I wonder what is next step of p2p development?

1st it was p2p file exchange. And all copyrighters were fucked.

2nd - cryptocurrencies. And bankers are going to be fucked.

Next step should be a completely goverment independent free p2p internet. Which should be free for every human being on a planet, everywhere.
Should see it in about 10-20 years or so.

Right now technologies like cjdns are being developed. This is a are beginning of this process.

So what do you think about it?

A global wireless mesh network implemented over converted cell towers could succeed those advancements.

I think if/when Storj or MaidSafe are ready and become popular, a physical decentralization of infrastructure (i.e. meshnets) will become less important, as all data would be encrypted anyway, and net neutrality would be there "out of the box". Classical ISPs will have to adapt to the new scenario as to not lose customers, or they would vanish.

Divide et Impera remains relevant within that scenario however.

Quote from: Wikipedia link=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divide_and_rule
The concept refers to a strategy that breaks up existing power structures and prevents smaller power groups from linking up.
