It's been a couple of weeks now since the last update, how are things progressing Max?

Max is a perfectionist and takes his time, dealing with him is like fucking a woman, the more foreplay the better the result.. leave the man be and you will shoot your load when it finally happens

    LMAO!  Classic. I've told Max this before but I think he has easily created the best cold storage units out there.  Mike's are great and the OG's but Max took it to another level (lot's of other great one's I love out there as well-just IMO).  I feel the same- happily and patiently waiting.


Max- I was going to email you but felt bad doing so with as insanely busy as you are and kind of feel bad asking here too but have to.  I started a thread about finding or having manufactured cases (clear air-tite ones like for bullion bars) for your Kia's, whether an exact fit for each type or universal w/padding for smaller versions.  Are you aware of anything that exists that works well?

BTW- chi-town has been AMAZING- not sure how either of us ever left!

Thank you Chi, I like a lot of the collectibles here myself, and have a nice collection as well. It's fun seeing what others come up with over the years.  

I've started thinking more seriously about protective casings and I've ordered a dozen different kinds from different manufacturers this year. None that are a perfect fit, I'm just working out what I'm wanting exactly and what materials to use. I worry a little that any hard plastic case could potentially scratch a polished mirror surface, while a PVC vinyl material would not. There are more options available if you go with an opaque container, but I know people might prefer a transparent one. I haven't ruled it out though.

Originally my cases were designed to protect the coin inside, but it wasn't long before I realized my cases could use cases of their own. And I do plan to produce something... most likely for the new moon bars first, as I plan to continue releasing works at this new size. And I can't promise it will be anything fancy, as I may end up leaning towards function over form in this scenario. But I am working on a solution nonetheless.

That is GREAT to hear Max!  I've had the same experience as I posted in my thread how I've ordered bullion bar cases, oversized baseball card cases etc to no avail.  I see how the plastic could be a concern scratching the mirrored surfaces.  I am pretty sure the vast majority of us would Love to have something as clear as possible..otherwise those we show won't be able to appreciate the true art you've created.  If you're already working on something I will likely forget the idea of having them manufactured as I think I wont have enough people wanting them then, as I'll likely need a pretty large order to just breakeven.  Appreciate the timely response Max!!  -Tyler

Last week I was informed that production of the housings would be completed by Monday the 19th (tomorrow) and that the engraving would be completed Monday/Tuesday this week. It’s looking like these parts may ship out Tuesday or Wednesday, so check back for a new update no later than this Wednesday the 21st.

Thank you silverkamote. Most coins, bars and some artworks here, mine included, have a collectible value in addition to an actual bitcoin value if the work is 'funded', meaning someone sent BTC to the address included on the piece. All of my works are sold unfunded, and it is up to the owner to decide on using them as cold storage devices.

good news, the housings and sliding clips have all been completed and the hand-polishing process is complete. Late last night I worked with the factory to make sure the engravings were in the correct location. All of the engraving work should be completed by tomorrow, at which point all pieces will go through a final quality control inspection, and then shipped out. I ordered extra assemblies to make sure I had plenty on hand if some did not pass inspection. So hopefully the next update will be shared Friday to confirm all pieces have shipped. Thanks again everyone.

I think its unlikely we will see any more suites up for auction. although the sets and singles I am sure will be traded

Nice update indeed! I can't wait until these are in hand and we can see those juicy pictures. I was a bit surprised at the "low" prices on the auction that Zepher recently ran for these.. I do believe though that once Max has shipped them all out they'll have a pretty big pricetag. I'm still a bit sad that I did not get my hands on these from the website but as is life, lol.

Another small update

06/25/2017 Update

I received word that the factory was working overtime this weekend to complete production. I should be back with a new update late tomorrow evening or early Tuesday. I expect these to ship to me any day.

More good news, all parts will ship to me tomorrow, and the engravings look excellent and in the right location (slightly off-center on the clips so that they will be centered on the bars) I’m hoping to have parts in hand so I can work on assembly and begin shipping next week.

Everything is going smoothly with assembly. There are some tasks that have taken more time than I would like… for example of the 5,000 holograms I ordered, only 1 in 10 have the square window centered inside the circle. It’s enough to complete these, but took almost a full day to inspect each. http://imgur.com/oIOJ2bE I do have someone helping me with some of the smaller tasks to help get these shipped sooner… even just unwrapping the 400 housings, 400 clips and 800 circular retaining rings from their factory packaging was a full day with help.

The NWA5000 samples have been loaded into around 1/2 of the bars, and I’m still cutting the rest. It’s a very slow process and is something I’ve spent the better part of the last week or two working on – I plan to take some photos of this process to share soon. I have gone through a dozen diamond coated saw blades already.

My goal is for shipping to begin this Friday, so I will post a new update by then.

P.S. I have also been shipping out signature series (bars/prints) orders, which I fell a little behind on – so if you’re waiting on these, know that you will be receiving them any day now.
