I dislike the premine destruction. It may be saved for donations or other things, because after all it's money and it could be used in something productive. What do people think?

I agree with dev's intentions.
Anyone can buy if he/she want the amount of coins desired and the destruction it's a fair action to prove that this is a serious project, without the intention of holding a huge amount of coins by their dev-team.

If you want to do something productive you can also buy some CATc's to do this If they destroy the coins we're going to know that they're not going to be available for example to dump or escape with it  That's the most important thing.

IMAO, I agree with them and I think that with that fair aspects like the one that we've mentioned, this is going to be a great coin. Remember that the most important thing is to have a serious project, not another one.

Now imagine a big part of that people being conscious that they can give an opportunity to cryptocurrencies. Where's the problem?

1) New team, new DEV.
2) This money is invented to be used as Fiat in a territory that is Catalonia. It has a use. The vast majority of currencies don´t.
3) Very little emission. It will be smaller if not sold ICO, more value.
4) Will be changes in its characteristics to be safer and better. Maybe also surprises.
5) A country or territory one day will bet for the use cryptocoins in their territory, perhaps Catalonia, most developed and technologyc area of Spain and with much desire to be independent.
6) There is a pending query the 9N and, in 2015, general elections in Catalonia and in Spain (people are tired of so much corruption).
7) It`s an idea that can be understood for all the people for make payments without commissions within a small territory with a name that likes to any resident of the area.
It will be added to good Exchanges.

Catalonia will get what Euskadi has failed on many years of armed struggle, with votes.
This is Catalonia-coin, no Terrorism-coin.

I think that eco-friendly algorithms like x11 or NIST5 are quite good for a coin because they able anyone to mine. With Scrypt-N you beat asics too.

I don't know which one is better but i prefer well-known and anonymous algorithms like X11 with Tor rather than the newest ones, we don't know if they're good enough.

@Placebo Thanks for your support! The Catalonia dev-team will work to have CataloniaCoin listed on Bittrex another time 
As well, when we destroy the not-sold CATc the price can go up! we're compromised with the project and it's fair and transparent as you can see.

@Cakir before talking too much you can take some cultural lessons. We're a project for Catalonia and we support the democratically right to decide their future.
