1. Bitcoin is a technologically sound project. 2. Bitcoin is unstoppable without end-user prosecution. 3. Bitcoin is the most dangerous open-source project ever created. 4. Bitcoin may be the most dangerous technological project since the internet itself. 5. Bitcoin is a political statement by technotarians (technological libertarians).* 6. Bitcoins will change the world unless governments ban them with harsh penalties.
My god, is economic freedom so scary?

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

it is dangerous... in the sense that it cannot be regulated, watched, or enforced. most of us dont see that as a bad thing, but never for a minute think its not dangerous. In the right hands, the anonymity of bitcoins could finance anything. consider: Much of the anti-terroism stuff has been hunted and tracked through money trails... with bitcoins, the money trail is almost non-existant. Hundreds of thousands could potentially be funneled through it in to highly warlike organizations such as the US Gov.. er i mean the taliban.

It's the most gamechanging open source project since the Linux kernel, if you ask me. Time will tell if it is even more so.

'Bitcoin is unstoppable without end-user prosecution' is currently the biggest incorrect bitcoin myth.

just asking -do you think it's incorrect because it is stoppable some other way or incorrect because end-users won't/can't be prosecuted?

Banning Bitcoin by governments would only make it more popular.
The real question is: will the governments dare to shut down the whole internet ? Because it is already too late for any other action that could have major effect on Bitcoin economy. No, seriously.

[ Author uncloaking here ] Yes. It's praise. I am a technotarian--and in fact the creator of the word (I think). I'm a huge fan of bitcoin and hope that it take hold.
