I'd say both the admins, theymos and BadBear, are one of the most trusted members I've dealth with. From the ones I haven't personally had any experience with but heard much about would include Vod, Tomatocage,  DannyHamilton, Kluge. I've probably forgotten some though.

The only person I've witnessed exhibit considerable trust is dooglus.  He held thousands of coins at just-dice and when the time came to close he made efforts to return those coins to their owners.  I'm sure there are many others, but in the gambling space I would say he is the most trusted.

I do not think I'd automatically trust a staff member here, though I can see giving them the benefit of the doubt.  I really have no alternative but to trust theymos if I'm going to use the site.  Which brings up an interesting question, trust with what?

Basically if someone has been here a long time (but have to watch for sold accounts) that is some indicator of trust as presumably they will not just throw the social capital they've built up over time on the boards away.  I think it helped that dooglus had been a frequent quality poster in the gambling section before he started just-dice.  I'd say people like stunna and dogedice.me are people I am trusting more in the gambling space.

This is more or less what the trust system was created for since you can never get universal agreement on who can be trusted. Yes there is a lot of criticism for the trust system, and unfortunately it tends to attract trust ratings only when exchange of money is involved but then it is a sign of how many people have trusted each other with money.

Trust is hard to verify on here, especially since people can sell their accounts.

Yep, even legendary membees with green truant are regularly sold.
That's why I would suggest to not give absolute trust to anybody except the over-mentioned members.

What do you mean "absolute trust"?

If you have successfully completed a deal or you think a person is a geniune person the standard practice is to give trust..trust is meant as a indicator and not a selling point. Just because someone has green everywhere shouldn't affect your judgement too much but make you feel that they are a better choice over someone who you don't know too much about.

I wouldn't stop giving trust just because the account could be sold on later...you never know that.

" absolute "  trust, for me ,  equals to risk money. I have used the trust system sometimes to score users, and i look at it to have an " idea"  about who i'm dealing with , but I would not risk my money on a green trust.

But I will for sure give  some money to the overmentioned members without any guarantee, because I " absolute"  trust them.

In order of more trusted to less trusted: (but all still trustworthy, IMHO)
casascius
theymos
johnthedong (John K.)
Keefe
sgornick
serp

There are mods, developers, and etc. I trust here, too, I just haven't had any trades/transactions with them, but I'd loan them a Bitcoin without a second thought. I also trust nanotube, but he's not really a BTCTalk person, and I'm not even sure how active he still is on IRC.

Another person I gave considerable trust to but has seemingly went MIA is legolouman. I'm always worried someone will hack or compromise an inactive user's account and then use the trust ratings I've given to scam people. I'm hoping that people maybe consider the time/date of the trust rating before entering into a new deal with someone, though.

Because he don't chase scammers like Vod and tomato, so his name appears less in meta topics, and less people complaining about how untrust was get negative trust from him?

The most trusted people should be those who have held on to large amounts of others money and returned it in due course, but even that can be used to build up confidence for a scam later on so I'd always advise caution with any trade. I also don't think users merely busting scams or scammers should necessarily equate to them being trusted with your money.

I think the most trust users in the forum is : satoshi .

Really? If satoshi came back today and asked you for a loan would you give him it?

Yeah, I tried many times going up to women in bars and telling them I was god and they needed to have sex with me to populate the world.

No one ever believed me.  The world is populated already.  Satoshi has more than enough bitcoins.  Smiley

Because he's trustworthy according to you, so why wouldn't you loan him it if he gave you a believable story? Maybe he doesn't have access to his coins anymore or is in legal trouble or in danger etc.

To me that would be an instant DISTRUST flag.  He had it all - what happened?  Need more information.  Maybe if I met him in person?

Goes without saying, if I ever ask for a loan, throw away all the trust you have for me, for something has happened that may make me less trustworthy.
