Developers want easy money when they are not at risk! They are quite insolent?

You are not tired of losing money?

Never buy the ICO and save your money!

Some naive people write that the syscoin is not a scam. Then what is it? Developers simply copy the code from litecoin and sold coins amounting to 1500 BTC! And after that, you are saying that this is not scam? you're out of your mind?

https://twitter.com/Crypto_God/status/500970543743791104

For what people paid 1500 BTC? Just for the air!

Until you buy ICO coins scammers rest with prostitutes and champagne!

I checked out the Bytecent thing; fully expected the usual bullshit.  See my post history, I'm known for pissing on scams.  Surprised I'm not banned off here. LightCoinDark people just love me (with a crowbar in the ass if they could ... how's the price these days guys?)

Anyone, back to topic, barring a very future tenses in the ANN (always a bad thing; in crypto the future is always tomorrow ...) IconicExpert's offering isn't half bad, quite interesting, actually.  First time I've ever said that apart from where my heart's at which would be Pandacoin.

There aren't even any bright inforgraphics, vaguely predatory taxicabs, little people in phallic rockets penetrating the moon, charts or any of that.  Just information.  A bit wierd for an ANN to actually give facts.  Not sure how to feel about that.  Feels wrong somehow.

If you take a minute to read through his Twitter, Iconic is painting himself as a changed man.  Less from a good heart than that scams don't earn what they did a few months ago but even mafia fellows in their old age realize they make more money in the system than out, just not all at once in paper bags and no-one shoots at you.

That complex POM system (read about it) might go a ways towards stopping dumping.  Or not.  Nothing else has but at least he's put some thought into things it seems.  We'll have to see how it goes once out in the wild. Good on him for not putting an ANN on Bitcointalk.  Keeps the trash (such as myself usually) out and let's those that want to invest get what real information there is to be had rather than trolls screaming at each other. If this coin works there goes the best parts of my day.

Everyone who has an IQ above 5 knows this. Sadly OP's is sub zero.

Most of the coins he listed are not scams...just bad investments. Which has been told to him a million times.. Honestly, He's not very good with english, so he may be confusing "getting scammed" with "scamming others".

Scam this, scam that, let everyone research and decide for themselves.  I think it's pretty obvious that 95% of coins are shit.

Who the f*ck are you people anyway, crypto angels? No such thing.....just stahp trying to be significant.  The only subjective opinion without malicious intent here is flapman and maybe Cryptodaknight.  The rest looks like school playground.

Whether or not it's a scam I can attest to a functional
VoIP enabled ALPHA version Wallet for a coin that I am
personally involved in as a member of the Voluntary Team.
I can also verify the code is being written for a SmartPhone
to accompany this coin.

So how many coins do you get for 1BTC?

True dat.

With 2.5 btc you can buy 1% of Kore which already has most of the features that voir plans on having after taking in 500 btc.

It's your coins, but I'm against all ITO's, that aren't fully functional and cutting edge.

Saying that when and if voir proves itself I'll buy in.

If your not actively using the technology behind your crypto investment,

IT IS A SCAM!!!!

Goes to show how much you DON'T know. The thread was taken off because it was a fake ANN with a donation address meant to take money from unsuspecting boys like you. Be thankful, they were doing the right thing.  Not that you'd know what that is.

Mods don't care either way about Bytecent.  It was a scam ANN with a fake direct address to deposit BTC for the ICO.  Bytecent is going through the Bittrex process, no direct links.  They shutdown a crook.

I have no idea if it's a "legit" link, but there is still another link to a Bytecent announcement thread here. Although this one lacks a direct address to deposit BTC for the ICO, so maybe as you say the mods don't care either way about Bytecent, on the other hand perhaps they have not noticed it yet.

Well, first, it isn't "me" who is providing anything.  I am not a supporter of this coin.  I do however have a dark hatred of scamming criminal trolls stealing money from the innocent.

It is one thing to post a scammy ICO in Bittrex and sucking in the silly sheep.  It is another thing entirely (as was done in the ANN taken down) to post a BTC address that claims to be a way to pay into the ICO when it isn't.

As for the "new" ANN it isn't sure.  Maybe just an informational thing? It doesn't allow posting so as to keep the trolls out. The main "ANN" is on a site called coinblog or something like that.

I'm forced to side with IE in his rejection of this forum as detrimental to a coin's success.  Any idea with any weight behind it is immediately mass swarmed by a congaline of trolls to the point where no sane person would invest becaue of the FUD.

His coin might be a load of crap, it might not.  The jury is still out.  But without the FUD, trolls and stupidity it will rise (or more likely fall) on the merits.

There are several coins in your list that are proven scams while other are not, it is sickening to see what the scam coins have done to the community and you should voice your concerns accurately .

Cleverhash is not a scam and you should not lump them into your speculations. Boomcoin was created by Cleverhash and has been around for a longtime. Our company and offer with "HASH" is very real. Please do remove CHASH from your list. You shouldn't want to be just as bad as those dishonest developers by providing the community with fraudulent information. Thank you.

Infanzan, you've been posting this a lot so my question to you is are you 100% sure with irrefutable proof or is this your objective and biased opinion? I don't think you're right about all your coins, CRAIG or SYS being two.  I was in SYS early, in Craig during ICO, listings in blockchain and all and ByteCent just launched yesterday.  How do you know?  So how about this, if you can prove with a major backup like CrytoAsian (POD) or Bittrex full disclosure and documented, or a respected high profile personality check off on your coins, I'll give you 2 BTC for your saintly work.  If even just 1 of your claimed coins is not, you give me 1 BTC.  Put your money where your type-hands is.  We'll escrow it.

Scam would mean that you know for a fact that they will take the money and run away.

got proof OP?

Until then , you should call them a bad investment and prove why you think they are.

Not defending IPOs or any coins here. Just want to point out that you can not plain out call them scams with out any facts. If you are going to get the attention of people with this thread then at least take the time to educate them why you think any one listed in OP is a bad investment.

Remember finally once and for all - all the coins that are sold through ico is scam. It's just easy money for developers. They just hours mining Millions of coins sold them for 200-500 Bitcoins continue going to make a new coin. You have not bothered to pay for his stupidity with their money?

Coinsource and POD - this is no guarantee. This is nothing.

Look this. POD is SCAM! http://cryptotrust.io/topic/244/pod-scams-list-of-scam-failed-projects-with-pod

The only ICO's I trust are from the Bitshares boys. These new coins that keep popping up with features that we already have are pointless and most eventually die off. There will always be bag holders and I don't want any part of that.

Now for the real reason I bothered scrolling through this thread.

I thought I'd also post a half naked Asian chick to dispel the angry geek energy but the guy above me got to it first. I found this instead:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=846866.0

While fools are losing their money to scam ICOs and the like little Pandacoin looks like it has become the first crypto with real world use by ordinary people.  Who would have guessed? Cuts the legs off all those scam coins and many that aren't. Seems like a no-brainer to me: "Let's see, invest in dodgy ICO from fellow named IconicExpert or invest in Pandacoin which people use to take cabs in Bucharest..." Deep thought required for that decision.

Some naive people write that the syscoin is not a scam. Then what is it? Developers simply copy the code from litecoin and sold coins amounting to 1500 BTC! And after that, you are saying that this is not scam? you're out of your mind?

are mining pools also dyeing now?
what happen when every pow coin was getting dumb by big farms and  multipools?

should we go back to pow coins only ?

LOL YoungMike, that was funny, haven't seen you in a while.  Hope all is good.

Infanzan-Do we have a deal?  You prove every single one of your coins you called out is a scam (we won't use POD or CoinSource) we'll use someone like BTCArchitect or Bryce W. to check off on all your claimed scam coins.  If you're right, I'll give you 2 BTC.  If you're wrong, you give me 1 BTC.  We'll escrow it.  Again, Craig and Sys were not outright initial scams.

Otherwise, this is a useless thread with high school rumors and we'll all just come for the Asian girl pictures.

If anyone watching this wants to see how much of a retarded crackhead Infazan is, look at the post below

sys price fell even before the news about moolah.io

So now a coin simply falling in price...is what makes you call it a scam?HuhHuh?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes
Infazan believes that a coin simply falling in price is a scam. Then, to him, everything that ever fell in price in life is a scam. This guy is either on some serious drugs, has negative IQ, or uses google translate and doesnt actually speak a word of english, most likely all three.

It's not a scam because the BTC was held in escrow by Moolah/Mintpal, and Ryah Kennedy, the leader of Mintpals management team ran off with the btc that was supposed to go the SYScoin development, and him running off with it led to the price drop. SYScoin did not scam, they got scammed. You fucking retard crackhead.

Again, I'm proposing to you that if you can prove every coin you listed is a scam, I'll give you 2 BTC but if you're wrong, you owe me 1 BTC.  I'll reach out to some high profile crypto personalities like Bryce Wiener or Crypto Cobain to check off your list.  Do we have a deal, we'll escrow immediately?

People are understandably wary of ICO and Crowd funded coins.

I propose from now on that any Dev wishing to launch such a coin should make their real name and contact details publicly available, If they have nothing to hide and don't intend ripping people off then there is no reason for them to stay anonymous.

Their coin may well fail, but if they've done the right thing in the first place then it drastically reduces the chance of it being a scam.

I'm sick and tired of peopling losing money here to greedy Dev's, personally I never have and never will invest in any ICO coin, but that's just because I preferred the old method of actually mining coins   Smiley

How do you propose ensuring they have given their real name and contact details? The EQX dev managed to give false details to coinsource. However, according to the quote below it would have been fairly easy to deduce the personal identification number he gave was fake.

How about launching a business, providing at least a litte bit of proof of your work (+identity) and then ask for crowdfunding ?

Not crowdfunding bevor the first line of code ?   Will end in scam in most cases.

Why not offer paypal and bankaccount as additional investment method ?

Sorry what has that got to do with the actual coin? How does this make a coin a "scam" or do you not understand the question?

Actually very much , if you provide your identity and bank account then you cannot run away.  when you are anonymous there is always the possibilty ...

So not every anon dev is a scammer, but it seems that many are...

And IMO someone who claim to have a good idea first should deliver something and then ask for cash ....

doc12 has a point. Crypto, I'm not sure if to take you serious...but you'd want people to give their bank account information away...You're trolling right...?

All that should be required is for the identities of the individuals involved to be known, and real. That way if a scam is done, they get jail time. Basically only invest in IPO's in which the identity of the dev/his team is known. The devs should no way in hell have to provide information like their bank account, street address, etc, Bitcointalk is full of crazy mothafuckas...

Have their identity verified by individuals that know them or instritutions etc. Or, just research the devs yourself, look for pictures of him online, verify d.o.b's etc. If everything adds up, then it's most likely real, if not then it's most likely fake.

I didn't say anything about bank details, and I have now ignored the guy that did. He has no intellectual capital and is utterly useless to me.

You say that the identities of the developers should be made public?

Then so should the identities of the investors.

If you are just another gutless peasant who demands the world but offers nothing in return, then you have no right to complain about a thing

If it wasn't for these devs none of you fools would have anything to trade in the first place, lets not forget that

You little bums are acting like a pile of helpless ladyboys

why don't you start controlling your own destiny and leave behind this loser mentality that you all seem to have

Extremely well said man. The OP (in regards to Vior) is just a troll. It's not very often SR members and even Hero+ will endorse coins like Vior has had.

Yeah, ICO's get a bad rap.  It's no worse than a 1 week PoW coin or any coin with a premine.  Basically DYOR and you'll be fine.

Hey Tokyo Ghetto, how you been? Which coin you in these days since CLK?

I have been sticking with the high PoS coins. HBN/TEK/HYP/TRK. Busy with work so just making some passive income with those coins. I sold out of CLK. Didn't make as much as I wanted but in the end I made a profit so I am happy with that.

"Whoever wishes to foresee the future must consult the past; for human events ever resemble those of preceding times. This arises from the fact that they are produced by men who ever have been, and ever shall be, animated by the same passions, and thus they necessarily have the same results."

As for investing ico ipo well, the anonymous nature of Bitcoins makes that a bit hard. We need a good distributed trust mechanism to complement it for that

If you bought 1btc worth of NXT during it's IPO you would have 5% of all NXT. Not all ICOs are shit.

these devs are actually very greedy. theyre usually asking 500 pr 1000btc for launching an open source software which is already there. yes we have btc ltc and millions of other coins. nxt didnt clone a coin and ask for thousands of btc. theres huge difference. greedy devs. false promises. shiny graphics. bo details. no website. nothing. not even a coder who would be willing to write a whitepaper worth reading. on top of that. greedy devs buying their own ico and taking free coins.

1/ Why Archcoin ? Still over ICO price, Arch founder buying more (real 100 BTC wall), fully transparent about his whole wallet and his identity, well known by the twitter community...I don't see any criteria of a scam - except having made a ICO.

2/ What do you think about Ethereum ?

3/ And other assets sales/IPO (Maidsafe, Swarm, Storjx...) ? Enter your Scam list or not ?

Ok, I'll bite the FUD apple; what exactly is wrong with Bytecent?

I don't care about the Blackcoin crap; ancient history.  IE kept some money he shouldn't have they say. True or not that has nothing to do with what people think is wrong with Bytecent.

Bytecent seems as legit as any other coin, (not that that is saying much) Whatever scam people think is hidden in Bytecent hasn't been seen yet.

They had a fucked up launch and returned the IOC BTC to people who wanted it on Bittrex. Can't remember that ever happening.

This left a real low count coin with a good price.  The block explorer only has a couple of suspicious looking wallets and even those are small compared the usual.

The mining is a little wierd with all kinds of new stuff but no-one's reported reams of new coins magically appearing or stuff like that. I do OK, can't complain. IE's CPU miner system works just fine.

I guess the big fear is the dev will dump and move on.  Wouldn't be the first or the last time THAT happened, would it? Just happened to LiteCoindark, Gaia and Munne although lots of them really think their dev paid $6000 to a PR firm ...

I've already made a nice little pile playing with Bytecent and it looks like it has some life left in it for the inevitable death spiral when someone dumps it hard.

I'm thinking any thing that Iconic Expert touches or in this case makes is a scam. Besides the BC stuff he fucked Libertycoin up real nice too. If you know what BYC is and can make money playing with it that's cool but it still doesn't make it not a scam. The mined blocks are not what they should be (higher counts) so at the very least the code is a bit wonky.

Be sure to add LFTC "litefeathercoin"

premined 50% with the intention of selling with ICO price of 100 sat as he believes his company deserves a 4-5 million dollar capital without actually doing anything. attempting to start a loan company without anything more then a poorly designed website, not to mention is running from his home, and wants such a large capital value lol....

I think we do have some low marketcap, legitimate projects. Very legitimate projects.

Infazan - can we get a 'legitimate/potentially legitimate projects under consideration' list going also? As much as crypto is inundated with scams and ipo take your money and run scams, there are gems in the sand.

I would personally nominate Rofo (Mr. Jason Curby)'s nobl/NOXT project as the first among them in terms of scope and aim. Let us know what you think.

please keep buying ico so the scammers don't need to think of new ways and they are out of sight for others. Ico-lovers you are doing everyone a great service by voluntarily feeding the scammers so they stay out of the rest. I support ico because they keep the ecosystem in balance and avoid scams in other places.

I think it's pretty good.

Hi, whats the difference between ico and ipo??
is ethereum a scam?

ETH has very high possibility of being a miserable investement if it ever materialises because the TOS said they don't have to release anything. Always a good idea to buy just an idea and a promise for hard earned dollars. Even if it materialises it will have been a very bad investement because of several other reasons.

Rule of thumb: if everyone talks about it, it is generally too expensive to buy

coins fail with high probability. About 95% of launched coins die within the first 4 months. So to buy an ico and give all the money up front to one person instead of mining or buying from miners is always a good idea. Please continue.

Not even talking about the 1001 other problems that come with the ico such as selfbuying unlimited premine and other things.

Icos enable scams of epic proportions with minimal risks for the scammer. It has never been so easy in human history before to steal such huge amounts of money with so little risk.

Even though IconicExpert did some shady stuff that Bytecent coin is just about the most successful ICO in months.  Doesn't mean it couldn't die five minutes from now but so far it hasn't and keeps recovering from dumps.  Usually with an ICO that first dump is the dev taking off.  That hasn't happened yet; the guy is answering questions, fixing stuff and basically being the kind of dev we wish lots of other coins had.  There's about 100 different scams he could be pulling but whatever he's doing has made a bunch of people (me included) nice cash while everything else is crashing like rocks.  I'm not an IE fanboy and have some low sell orders in just-in-case he pulls the plug or someone finds out there's a scheme going on.  At the same time, the "legitimate" coins could learn some shit about customer service, responsiveness and taking care of business.  It all helps he keeps it off of here and away from the trolls, idiots and general stupidity.  Look what's happened to the BitBay or the Cannabiscoin threads.  Total mess.  Only a moron would read that stuff and put money in those projects both of which look semi-non-scammy.

the best thing about IE is that he is not hidding , everyone knows who he is and he put his reputation on the line because he believes in his coin ,

take a look at other coin developers ,no one knows who they are and their POD is not worth a thing .

Ltcd? I'm not sure...

You can be sure...

More like an obvious grab for some of the fad money moving into anything with a "D" at the end of the ticker.  But it's a completely hollow shell.  Nothing to do with either LiteCoin, or DarkCoin.  No anon / stealth features, but they did manage to get a semi decent logo.

IE may be scammer but at least up til now be's running Bytecent pretty straight at least to the stuff we see up front. I'm doing bloody well; would put more in if it weren't for the past history. Having a feeling I might regret holding back later in life.

I second adding Darkgold to the list.

The dev created a second thread, deleted the first, and is deleting all posts except from their shills.

ByteCent is Iconic Experts coin. He is the "dev" of it. Stay clear of this scammer at all costs.
Just because is IE's coin, Bytecent is a scam!

Because BitcoinTalk cares for BTC only. Altcoins aren't in their interests but they tolerate them by having boards allocated appropriately.

this was brought up in meta but they say they can't differenciate between scam and not-scam. Banning all of that shit would really be desireable for people here. Not even 5 out of 100 are legit.

I have a lot of rules about investing my money.

One of them is that I avoid investing money where an anonymous person breaching an agreement could profit by causing my money to be lost.  Anonymous people can't be taken to court and held liable for losses, and therefore are not to be trusted, especially where a profit motive is involved.

And, really, that one rule has been enough to keep me out of almost all the scams around here.  The few that weren't just tossed out because of that rule, all hit one of the other rules, or just my natural pessimism about their prospects.

So...  woop, woop.  I haven't been scammed, and I haven't profited from scams.  And I've probably ignored a few things that weren't scams, but I'm okay with that because betting that they were scams was still the bet with the best odds.
