Use it offline, quit your browser after using it, and probably restart the computer prior to going back online to be safer.  (Or use one that is never online)

Instead of running it on an OS that may already be infected, backdoored, keylogged or screenshotted by a virus or trojan horse you've already got, I would recommend running a liveCD and generating the key there. That way there is no chance of an eavesdropper intercepting the key, and it will not be written to the hard drive accidentally even as memory page file. See the last link in my signature.

I am lucky, I recently go hold of some computers, that was going for recycling.
I managed to put some together and used it to print 300+ paper wallets offline.
They are now in pieces and being recycled, so nobody will ever get their hands on those private keys. ^Smile^

I drop some satoshi's towards them, and will destroy them, once it's sweeped onto online wallets.

I am a bit paranoid, when it come to things like this, so this might be a bit extreme. ^LoL^

Bitcoin addresses are based on keys that are and must be completely random numbers. Flaws deliberately introduced into or bugs in the implementation of operating system random number generators can reduce your security. Making your own key, i.e. with a brainwallet generator, is a surefire way to generate a nonrandom key weak enough that others can steal your bitcoins.

Lol, some people who chose not to sell their BTC holdings when the price was around $1000 are regretting big time. It's unrealistic to expect BTC's price to go beyond $500 again. It's overvalued. The bubble's been long overdue to burst.

bitaddress.org is opensourced a quick inspection of the code shows that no information is send to the server. the owner will not know about your private key.

Guys you're way too paranoid IMO. Paper wallets are as safe as they get, don't make it even more confusing for the OP. Poor guy !

3 copies is better. You should have two backups, plus your original.

Backing up your laptop to an SD Card in the same laptop is #notabackup
Backing up to a hard drive that is 6 inches away from your computer is #notabackup
Backing up your Gmail to another Gmail account is #notabackup
Backing up your book by copying it to another folder is #notabackup
The photos that are still in your camera memory are #notabackup

3 copies of anything you care about - Two isn't enough if it's important.
2 different formats - Example: Dropbox+DVDs or Hard Drive+Memory Stick or CD+Crash Plan, or more
1 off-site backup - If the house burns down, how will you get your memories back?
