Please confirm receipt.

Loan Amount: 1BTC
Amount to be Repaid: 1.2BTC (if late, an additional 0.1BTC to be paid for each day after due date).
Due: Midnight GMT on February 15, 2015

Repayment address is in my sig: 1LUwMs4QJNPWZmaSrD4Uk8SrHSkbaGvqt4

Hello there arklan...please let me know the plan going forward and how much time you need.  This loan carries a significant late fee of 0.1BTC/day...we need to make arrangements...

Terms of this loan have been renegotiated.  arklan has made a payment of 0.5BTC.  The remaining amount due is now locked in at 1BTC, due April 15, 2015.  This means total repaid will be 1.5BTC, rather than the original 1.2BTC.  Late fee provision is waived for two additional months until April 15, 2015, to give time to get affairs in order.  If arklan is not able to repay the remaining 1BTC balance due by that date, a new late fee of 0.1BTC per week with be enforced (rather than per day).  Again, this is to ensure the loan is paid off at some definitive point.  Updated loan terms:

Borrowing Member: arklan
Loan Date: December 4, 2014
Loan Amount: 1BTC
Amount to be Repaid: 1.5BTC, 0.5BTC paid on February 16, 2015, 1BTC balance remains
Due: April 15, 2015
Late Fee: 0.1BTC for each week late

confirm the above.

Responding to this as requested arklan...per our renegotiated terms above, 1BTC is owed by April 15, 2015.  Repayment is not required until that date, although late fees would be due there-after.

As an aside--was pleased to hear of your turn of fortune...seems all your diligence has literally and figuratively paid off.  Congratulations to you.

I will soon be repaying everyone on arklan's behalf (he will owe me the amount that I will send to his lenders). This is to simplify things (1 lender to repay).

The current lender details I have that will be paid out (please confirm):

ducatitalia - 1BTC - 1LUwMs4QJNPWZmaSrD4Uk8SrHSkbaGvqt4
botany - 0.50BTC - 1GiZCixEQeDi2NfbsUXbo9DWmj1E9a4Nfn
Magic8Ball - 1.20BTC - 1HCzqGjDUjmV53LJNrrFQhyF5nvgoSufAp

Sum of 2.70BTC, repayment will be 2.88BTC from arklan to me.

I have not included fees for anyone. If arklan decides to include late fees, they will be paid by him separately.

My current repayment needed is: 1.35BTC not including this loan.

As soon as I send the respective amounts to the 3 other lenders, arklan's debt to them is repaid and I will be the sole creditor (to whom arklan owes 3.77BTC plus any late fees). Arklan may still owe the other lenders late fees.

Marco this is probably not a very good idea. In the event that he does not repay then you will be out several BTC. He is already late on the loan and most banks tend to value loans to be worth less when the borrower is late.

You would probably be able to negotiate with the various lenders to buy their debt from them at a discount, which would increase your potential reward in the event that he actually can repay

Fair enough. My loan isn't due for a long time yet, but if you have talked things over with Arklan, you can send bitcoins to the following address.

Bite me.

I agree with everything Marco said. I can guarantee $200 0 in btc Bi-weekly, on pay days. Like today. I'm exhausted from lack of sleep though... Soon as I get home in passing out, I hope.

so, interesting wrinkle. Magic8Ball is now asking, via PM, for 1.2 btc, not .92... apparently he's doing the math in USD. i'm telling him as politely as i can that btc was loaned and btc will be repaid... but i felt it should be publicly known. charging me more for early repayment just rubs me the wrong way, even if there's a third person involved. not like i could exactly predict the price would drop after all.

I told him to cover it in USD as the current amount is giving me a loss. He converted it immediately to USD and now using USD to buy, so I am surprised he is unhappy about this. The current amount means he is making a profit after repaying.

Since it was not pegged to USD I am asking for a late fee instead with the amount being same to the BTC in case it was pegged in USD.

I am surprised by his stance. I have never asked him to pay up even when it was getting late. All I ever told him was to take time to sort it out. Even when he wanted to repay now I told him it is fine if he wants more time.

Marco himself took a late fee of 0.3 BTC, and I think there may be more due to the new deal.

The right thing to do in this case would have been for Marco to give Arklan a loan, and for Arklan to take up repayment with individual lenders.
Would have lessened complications.

No, since arklan would then have the chance to run with 2+ BTC. Not that I don't trust arklan (I do), but I'd like to limit risks.

Ok, I think it's fair enough that arklan repays at least the USD worth with the fees added.

Not sure where you saw 0.3 BTC, I have no set late fee nor have I come to the firm agreement of one.

You are right. I hadn't considered that.
You could have done it in 3 or 4 transactions, with each transaction sufficient to pay off one lender.
Alternatively, arklan should have done the talking, finalized things and you could have stepped in when payment was required.

not complaining mind you. just clarifying.
