predicted prices would rise to a staggering $40,000 per BTC.

I think it's a little too soon for that, maybe in 2117.

FTFY

< 100 BTC is not worth mentioning. Poor souls will always remain poor. Don't miss the failtrain.

This MMM pump will end badly. Bitcoin will go to $100 or less, and quite possibly be banned in South Africa, Philippines, Malaysia and other countries most affected by MMM cancer.

predicted prices would rise to a staggering $40,000 per BTC.

This will not happen in the next two years or even 5 years.

With the more adoption of bitcoin and its use in various purchasing, the price will rise in the long term. We do not know how high it will be.

Some info that may or may not be accurate. Sergej Mavrodi, the founder of a monetary pyramid MMM that stripped many Russians of their meagre savings during the Wild 90's is back in action. Yesterday he said that Bitcoin is useful for his MMM projects operating from China, and that he can crash the price at any moment if he chooses to do so.

https://www.vedomosti.ru/finance/articles/2015/11/05/615733-mmm-sergeya
http://www.rbc.ru/finances/09/11/2015/564098689a794742da316379

I am not sure if what he says is 100% correct or if he draws attention to himself, but I wouldn't underestimate his ignominious "talent" for parting people with their money. To put things into perspective, compared to Mavrodi and his MMM, Karpeles and Mt.Gox was an exemplary honest company headed by a charitable founder.

Personally, I'd rather see BTC at 250 without Mavrodi, than at 500 with him.

Re: It's happening! --- $520 $454 $360 $356 Sad

I saw a message today that OKCoin was not paying out the coins that had been redeemed to them. If this is true it seems like another Mt. Gox is on our hands.  Is there any truth to this?

We just have to wait for OKCoin to release some information on this matter if it is really an issue. One thing is for sure. Never take things said on this forum or elsewhere serious untill it has been proven. People are out to cause panic, hoping people will start selling massively.

I guess when it comes to bitcoin you need strong hands to hold in times of despair and a pair of balls to sell and take profit in times of euphoria.

You need some experience to time these moments.

Back down we go. We're now in a downtrend. I don't expect anything significant until the halving.

$700 by Nov 17 Nov 11

there were so many skeptics replying in my thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1235417.0

we shall see who ends up saying I told you so.
Ok I admit I was totally wrong here about Nov 11.  at least for 2015 that is.  I am still hopeful Bitcoin will surprise us beyond our most optimistic expectations when we least expect it.

And then the ETF gets approved and the whole market turns upside down. Almost impossible to give a market advise for a longer period right now.

ETF won't do jack at this point. It's too little and too late, the way the Winklevoss tiwns have always been.

Halving will have an effect, around six months before it happens. Over the medium term, bitcoin will DECLINE.

That's hindsight... Just forget thinking about that. If you didn't have the balls to sell at 500, you will never be able to day trade anyway.

Just enjoy the long term increase, and you'll be a happy man in the future.

Hahaha, read my mind!

Fortunately, the only people really getting screwed by the price decline are participants in signature campaigns, who mostly took a pay cut and aren't likely to get it back.
