I would like to nominate Rob Halford, lead developer of Gridcoin.
Since over a year has been tirelessly working on Gridcoin. He has revolutionised crypto-currency mining with his Proof of Research algorithm. Miners are now BOINC Researchers and get directly rewarded for any kind of BOINC scientific computing task. Not only was Gridcoin able to summon up a significant amount of BOINC computing power for scientific research, but now also provides the incentive and additional proof needed to run a BOINC DAC.
He also implemented a way to evade centralized checkpointing in Proof of Stake crypto-currencies, enabling fully decentralized checkpointing on a Proof of Stake block chain.
He has pioneered the first block chain that allows full sql queries against it and will continue building this feature.

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Reading through a few pages of this thread, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that, whatever the results are, the results won't even be remotely close to forming a representative sample of what the community's opinions actually are.
Is anyone else thinking this?
Edit: I'd go with Andreas Antonopolis.
