It could be that he (mistakenly) sees bitcoin as a con and is trying to protect you.

Bitcoin is super cool and all the kids are doing it

If he says it was an automatic update to your router, perhaps the router needs to go for a swim  Roll Eyes

Anyways, What country are you in? Who is your ISP? Are you still able to visit here? It might not be your dad's fault.

Does your dad have any specific reasons not to trust Bitcoin?

Sounds like he doesn't have a single clue what Bitcoin is actually about. "Bitcoin is probably not reputable", right, and that assumption is based on what exactly?

Dear Mr. DynoTAP's dad, please join this forum and ask around. Plenty of people (enthusiastic Bitcoin adopters) will be happy to resolve any questions or misinformation you have about bitcoins, and explain why this concept is so brilliant and promising.

And dude, you're 24. If you're still letting your dad (or anyone for that matter) decide what sites you can or cannot visit, you're doing this to yourself and deserve no better.

In theory, there's no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

unfortunately Mr. DynoTAPs father was dumb enough to put a ban on this website as well, I'm thinking he's been sniffing my packets.

Dude! Wait one second there I'm trying to resolve this ... issue with my father. I'm not going to let him just walk over me like that!
