You can get a better idea of members rep here (though that does not mean they won't scam you [or go rouge]).  Also a lot of guys swear by bitcoin-otc, but I've not used that a whole lot.  It's a pain in the ass trying to remember all the commands (for me).

Our beloved pirate@40 had a very good OTC rating. For what it's worth I only trust what I can see and build personal relationships to traders. If that can not fill my needs I go through Gox. I hope I can build a solid net of personal traders to be independent when Gox follows Tradehill.

I suppose I should have... ah well. only a $33CAD lesson. Serves me right for trying to grab some BTC for $1.50 under market.  Hopefully "ian" over at Bitcoinary takes some action and starts banning some of this asshole's accounts.

I'll stick to Canadian Bitcoins going forward. A registered business, with a brick&mortar address, a verified bank account #.  Done two buys from them, and they are very professional/fast.

yup well did that person verify their social media accounts? if so ian should be able to find them if you cant, you should be able to see their phone etc. once you entered the trade

Signed up with and attempted my first trade about 5 hours ago.  The seller never sent the coins.  So how do I go about reporting him or at least cancelling the transaction?  I see an option for marking the trade completed, but not for marking it incomplete or leaving the appropriate negative feedback.

after marking incomplete probably you can leave feedback on a rating of 1-5, 1 being very bad

I've been getting killed on cc chargebacks (Usernames: "Slalom" and "anon89"). It seems like all legitimate trading has dried up on Bitcoinary until there is some way to ensure vendors won't be screwed over by people perpetrating these scams.

My question is: What chance do I have of getting this money back after the chargebacks by settling with PayPal?

I hold tangible evidence of the transactions occurring,(i.e. screenshots of the trade conversation and posted verification by the buyer that they have received BTC.)

Am I wrong to assume that Paypal usually favors the sellers more than buyers? Or are they more concerned with keeping their relationships with Credit Card issuers in check?

Cannot send messages to people at the moment, very hard to get a deal going when there is a big red error which comes up saying " We're sorry, but something went wrong. "
