If you send first, you risk the seller absconding with the payment with no item being sent. If you wait for him to ship first, you risk exchange fluctuations. Choose your risk, and stick with one of them. If you want to completely miss the point of Bitcoins, you could make an agreement based on a fiat price and do the conversion at the time of payment, but really? Who cares about $5-6 difference.

Stop reacting in such a hyperactive manner, and calm down.

I feel that what I've done is completely fair and you saying that I should be "totally avoided" because I held the deal to the terms originally agreed upon is quite unfair. I really feel like I did nothing wrong here and you are trying to make me look bad here for no reason. I ask that you back down and stop trying to make me look bad because I didn't give you a discount because the market increased after we agreed to do the deal.

You didn't. He's trying to use your low post count and threaten to label you as a scammer to weasel a better deal for himself. As long as he gets his cards, I'd say you're fine!

Are you kidding me?  It is PRINCIPAL dude.  1 BTC scam?  Wow.  I will benefit HUGE from that.  Wow man, you are pissing me off.

Principal of good business is greater than 1 BTC.

I make 1 BTC in 1 hour.  That is not the point.  If you seriously think I am trying to scam this guy for 1 BTC -- you can also be added to my ignore list.

That is COMPLETELY out of line.

Then why else would you be changing the *agreed upon* payment for an item AFTER the item has been shipped. To me, that sounds more shady.

BTC is in a upward trend.     Because we don't have long term historic records on price movements, it in my opinion is silly to call someone "shady" for asking for corrections and clarifications on prices for goods.

What you are seeing here are real and classic hedging risks because people want BTC and only use USD to figure out the relative value is for each transaction.  I think it is beautiful that people are learning how to operate in these complex yet simple environments.

Both of you should just make up.   I know because many of us are strangers and there are some scammers, we are quick to jump the gun, but we all need to just be a little more flexible so we can get deals done and realize that things are changing rapidly so don't be offended when people want to negotiate a little more.

One more piece of clarity.

I didn't call you shady, I was saying that if I gave you the discount that would be shady. You are fine, I have no issues with you.

For those that care here is an excerpt from our IM chat earlier today.

Quote
Benjamin:can i get a smallll break on the price? maybe 49 BTC?
 me: haha
  sorry man
  that would be kinda shady
 Benjamin: ok no worries

You had no issue with it at the time. What changed?

I was nothing but nice through the entire transaction. It is disappointing to see such a thing cause someone to try to ruin my rep on this site.

My 10 are still up for sale,  I am willing to part them out, the prices will be 25BTC+shipping if you want to buy individual cards. PM me to discuss details.

.50 x 50 is a pretty significant number.

You probably don't even have that in your wallet right now.

lol I don't understand what you are missing here.  Did you do well in school?

jbob06 asked for other people to chime in. Stop blindly attacking me for not siding with you.

thats why I always agree on a USD set price incase it goes up or down. when you agree to a set btc number... the USD number can fluxuate at any moment, and you either live with it, or you cry about it to yourself win or lose.

The way the seller is handling this is completely unfair... but i only skim read through this...

I am confused as to why it is unfair to stick to the original price, maybe I am misunderstanding you.

I don't see this as being unfair. The deal was for 50BTC, which is what was paid. I've been on the end of buying BTC back when it was 5.2 a couple months ago and then dropped down to 4.8 before I even received the goods, but that's one of the risks we take. In the future, if you want to pay a certain amount of USD for goods, it's probably just best to use USD or agree to an amount of BTC indexed to an exchange at a specific time.

This. I just bought a single from BFL 10 days ago when the price was 5.2. Now that it's ~5.9 should I ask them for a 15BTC refund? I mean they havn't shipped it yet...

Did anything in the original deal state "at $5.5"? You assumed that rate because it was sort of stable... Don't count on stability.

And the way you reacted to a potentially negative situation threw up all kinds of neon-red flags about you. One being that you are very unstable and are liable to go off your rocker at any time for any reason. Take it easy.

I have said nothing bad about you here. And you continue to call me a bitch, I have said you are an honest person and were very nice to deal with during the transaction. The entire point of buying/selling with BTC is that you are subject to the exchange rates, using fiat as a measurement during a trade sort of ruins the point of using BTC at all.

You say that I did not stick to the original price, then you call me a liar, then you call me a bitch. You claim that I wouldn't have given the deal if the exchange went down, what are you basing that on? And you claim that we all "know" that you would have given the discount. How do we know?

No USD equivalent was agreed to ever, please stop acting like it was.

You didn't trust me so you asked me to ship first, so I did. I was more than honest throughout this transaction, to direct profanity at me just makes you look bad.

I don't think it would be unreasonable to ask for this being they see the same data as you.  Its up to them to accept, but this would be a valid request and I would not be offended if someone asked me this, especially that they have not shipped.

I just think this is hilarious ... being over 1 BTC.

Kid must be broke or something.  I kinda feel bad for him now.  Trippin' over 6 bucks.

I am not the one that blew this up, please relax.

I ask that you please take me out of the negative section of your sig, because as you said, this wasn't me fault.

At the moment you agreed to the transaction you should have considered the 50BTC as spent.

I don't like to talk about other people deals but you accepted it and you're the only one that is complaining about it.

Imagine that a client purchases a VPS on my website and suddenly the bitcoin value rises. Why on earth would I have to give bitcoins back if the deal was closed in bitcoins ?

I'm afraid you don't understand the concept of bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the future !
