Anything that I currently pay for electronically, either by credit card, paypal (yuck!), wire transfer, direct debit,  etc. With the exception of government-related payments, like taxes.

This includes:

  • Rent
  • Electricity bill
  • Internet provider
  • Mobile phone provider
  • Cable TV provider
  • Webhosting provider
  • Online purchases at Amazon, Ebay, Groupon, etc.
  • Health insurance
  • Car insurance

In theory, there's no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Lamborghinis   @ approx 100BTC each!

..but in the mean time it'd be nice if a few more computer parts suppliers accepted them.

Android apps. <--- This would be a winner, Android App Store that only accepted Bitcoin.
I find the whole credit card on file model of all App Stores to be very convoluted and refuse to install paid apps because of that.
Apple is even worse, one wrong click and you just paid $20 for a useless app without even noticing lol

I'm still looking to be the first person to hire and ... escort ... with BTC.  /sigh

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.

Steam credit/gift cards. That would be cool. Especially because there's a summer sale coming up.

This question spurred me to look at my bank statement and see what I use my debit card for most:

  • Petrol
  • Bar tab
  • Dinner
  • eBay

Most of my bills are direct debit, and while I'd like to be able to pay with BTC, it would probably be slightly less convenient (although I would probably give up that convenience for the additional security and privacy that bitcoin offers).

  • Mortgage
  • Utilities
  • Landline
  • Cable/Sky
  • Mobile
  • Internet

Looking at these two lists, far too many of them are big companies, who are unlikely to be early bitcoin adopters, but won't object to it when it arrives.  eBay is definitely going to fight tooth and nail against it.  The ones most likely to adopt first are the small businesses: pubs and restaurants.  I guess they like POS systems rather than QR codes on mobile phone screens.

Sigh.  Looks like it's going to be a hard journey for bitcoin.

Thanks, looks great! Unfortunately these seem to be mostly U.S. oriented (I live in Europe).

In theory, there's no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.
