its not a case, but a SSD on super-duper-new-kind of flash memory SSD[named RRAM/MRAM] and rigged with self-destruction mecanism 10 Kg TNT equivalent.
and thats why its so big - explosives too bulky nowadays.

..or its actually his prized collection, an IBM 5150 PC that he neatly pack away in the case.

The currency symbol represents what he used to buy it, looking at both pictures it seems he bought one with yen and one with bitcoins.
