I think I remember seeing it somewhere, if not is anyone plan on making the Better Businesses Bureau of bitcoin system working? I would like a badge on my site or something, and I think it can help users trust trusted sites that are new to them.

And what's to stop someone from copying the badge to their server and serving it up locally?

That is why a Link to the BBB website that shows the companies status always helps. Instead of showing a BBB Approved message. You should only supply an image that says "BBB Relations" then have a link redirect to the official BBB website showing the status of the merchants/business page. This way everyone can honestly upload a "BBB Relations" logo/image but the website it self is where people could check the status.

It would be best to set up a government system to handle these issues, you can't really enforce anything otherwise. Scammers don't care about reputation, they fake everything anyway. You need a government oversight body, and some international agreements to make sure other countries follow suit. Bitcoin will thrive once this is accomplished.

You forgot your [sarcasm] tags on that one. Or if you really think bitcoin NEEDS governmental oversight....

To be widely used, yeah it's going to need some government oversight.

Everyone knows that a poast (a combination of post and roast) is a negative review made popular after the successful 2010 season of American TV's "Comedy Central Roast." Keep up people, it's tiring dragging all your butts.

Yeah, first there was upboating and now poasting. Both need to be in UD.
To get back on topic. Hey OP maybe you should start a campaign: Bring Back Better Business Bureau of Bitcoin Before Bernanke Blows it.
Now who will support BBBBBBBBBit?
