Maybe somebody is looking for a missing "2". I can see the image has been manipulated and the number 2 appears, however I have lost this thread since the first I saw this was in Bitcoin General Discussion. The only reason I stumbled across this was because of DannyHamilton. This guy got knowledge. And his posts let me here again. Back on topic- can someone confirm my find? And can someone kind of guide me abut what happened? (I will go through all posts but if I can have a summary in all posts that would be great). Thanks

Correct. The same spot also converts to the number 2 in Times New Roman EDIT: To be specific load the image here: http://29a.ch/sandbox/2012/imageerrorlevelanalysis/and play with the settings The number 2 in Times New Roman is clear at the "spot"

Waiting for OP to come and give you your prize I am not trying to guess the answer. I am sharing facts about the painting to spark off ideas. Like now, i see a cross on the stone. I start thinking about: It may be an "x" meaning 10, or it is directing us to a brick/stone. I know a famous "Rosetta Stone" which have ties to languages like the Tower of Babel.

162? I see a "C" (100, at the far left), "L" (50, at the top), "X" (10, down below), and 2 "I" (1, one in the far right, the other towards the left of the picture).
edit: it could also be 142 (CXLII) instead of 162 (CLXII), as I see no way to order them.

I think that the solution is: The Rosetta Stone Based in "X marks the spot" given that it marks to a Stone and this is the most directly related with the paint picture that is given as clue, and some similarity with the previous puzzle. Rosetta stone is key to solve the problem in the "construction" of the babel tower, I saw another user mentioned as a posibility another stone like "Rosetta Stone" but didn't submit as a solution, see quote It may be an "x" meaning 10, or it is directing us to a brick/stone. I know a famous "Rosetta Stone" which have ties to languages like the Tower of Babel.
