This forum needs an upgrade, it looks like a website that was made in the 80's lol.

Ive grown to like it actually.  Something like bitcoin reddit isnt as clear on the eye but it does have a cool advantage of the upvote system.  Mixing the 2 is probably best idea.

Same. It did and does look a little dated but it's grown on me and I've got used to it as I'm sure many of us have. I hope the new forum isn't too different but just slicker and modernised otherwise it could be quite jarring though new upgraded versions of websites or forums usually are and take some getting used to.

The only thing I would consider a valid change will be ability to pick skins for this forum. It would be great if we could pick certain color schemes. I got accustomed to bitcointalk and I do not want big changes simple look is an advantage rather than a flaw.

I think the idea of having multiple skins is a good idea , maybe we could even make a way to change it ourselfs? cant be to hard , just have to make a page for it where you can edit it with any colors you want :>

There is already an option to change theme in your profile* but it is currently disabled. I think it was because the exploit in uploading. We might see it enabled in new forum software.

I have seen it return "disabled 45" when I press change and I do not think it is related with the "avatar hack/bug" of couple of years ago.

Thanks for telling! I didn't mean just the 'avatar hack', I meant 'exploit in uploading'. A user can upload a script which maybe used for hacking. So to prevent it, the forum may have disabled it.

I think uploading it to browser data(local) would be safer.

I wanna change or delete my current avatar, since I wasn't involved in feathercoin for a long time(1 and half year) I hope the new forum will be coming asap.

Anyone knows when will be possible to change or delete the avatar? I know it doesn't work because some hackers found the exploit.

You can contact theymos and ask him to delete your avatar, this is the unique possibility. I'm also waiting the new forum software (but I think we should wait another couple of months).

It has been answered many times. Everything(status, trust feedback/rating, posts, threads etc...) except password will be moved to Epochtalk. Passwords might also be moved but there is no confirmation on it.

Most probably the slickage team will create a sort of confirmation email, and it will send to the actual email address... after we can recover the password. They will not transfer the hash of al the password, because it is more easy to recover/create new password through the reset email.

when is this forum going to be coming out?
The last I heard it should be released "early 2015" although we are already past that. I believe most/some of the code is available on github so it is a good ways there now.

If I were to guess then I would say it will probably be available for everyone to use as bitcointalk around 4-6 months from now or so (although I have zero inside knowledge about the progress)

Now I think the forum will be released very soon due these previous attacks, but something make me thing that the new one will be attacked more than the actual  Roll Eyes (it is only a sensation).

The entire DB will be transferred >> new forum software, the unique thing that 'we' should do is : change the pass (using the email address, or in another way).

I sure hope not. I've been waiting for the new forum since I joined Bitcointalk.org in 2014. I hope that they will implement alot of new patches to this software for its completely outdated for the times. We've been waiting to long now! Bring on the new forum already!
