How are the two events relatable? Surely we need a new forum more than ever now, or at least to make sure it is going to be as safe as possible. The forum will be here when it's ready and fully functional and not before so it's utterly futile speculating or asking when it's going to be ready every day of the month.

Bitcointalk NEEDS a mobile version.

IMHO, just like how you get used to the forum design, I've gotten used to the mobile feeling of the website. It's not the most mobile-friendly website there is but it does its job.

But I think they're adding a mobile-friendly version...possibly.

Well Bitcointalk has a lot of room for improvement. It definitely needs a mobile friendly version.

There is no need to waste time and money to make a mobile friendly version of Bitcointalk.org in its current state. The reasoning behind this is that the forum is just around the corner. While we are not likely going to see it before 2016, waiting 4-6 months isn't really a lot of time. I'm assuming that the new forum is going to have a friendly(or friendlier) mobile version. One can track the development of the forum and it is going to be a huge improvement in comparison to SMF.

Bitcointalk is slow on mobile devices, it is also annoying to browse. Bitcointalk will have more users if they made a mobile version. This would positively impact the bitcoin community.

Epochtalk is a long way from what SMF offered back in 2009. I don't know if there will be an official mobile app(maybe somewhere down the road perhaps?) but the Epochtalk mobile ux compared to SMF is better by a large margin.

Mobile app for Bitcointalk has been talking about for thousand times, but looks like no one responses for this. Anyway, Hope the new forum will come to us soon.

Why not just use the same SMF update to the most current one and get everything secure on it and not have to worry about having to develop a whole new platform and software to be used that will take a lot of man power. Forums are fine the way they are. Just needs a good update and improve features that SMF can and do provide but using such outdated version does not help matters. Maybe updating and making progress with what everyone likes and uses am sure is the winner.  The new design and forums have seen are ok but needs a lot of work doing to it to get me to use in the future. Just hope that bitcointalk keep old and new and have both options to use.

It doesn't matter now because it is already too late. I'm pretty sure that theymos stated why (somewhere).

So with that said am amusing they are going to be doing some form of an import to it and user status or it going to be a wipe out and fresh start. Any details or information relating to old to new migration if to take place?

A fresh start would probably make 99% of the users unhappy so that is not going to happen. All the data from this forum will be transferred to the new one.

Is there any more updates on when the new forum software is coming? I thought it was coming this Feb, but now at the end of December this is nothing. Lol.

You should watch what theymos posts. A public beta should be available, possibly even this month. This is what he said recently IIRC. It is better to spend more time on the project than to push something that is partially working.
