Hello! I'm new on this forum. I have, as a hobby, a candle workshop and recently got paid in Bitcoin and Litecoin. I thought the idea of cryptocurrencies is very interesting, so when a customer asked if I would accept them, I read up on tax-related issues etc and decided - why not? Right now it's not much, but if there will be more people paying in crypto's, I will have to look for ways to spend them or exchange them.
Always good to see new businesses accepting bitcoin.
You may create a thread in the marketplace section here and list your business on
http://coinmap.org/ to attract more bitcoin users.
Well, if more people are willing to pay in Bitcoin, I don't see why I wouldn't accept them. Of course, it may not be very practical to buy candles for bitcoin and pay a fortune to have them shipped halfway across the world
The only thing I would like is a way to be protected somewhat against fluctations in the bitcoin market - I'd rather not sell $100 in Bitcoin and find that the next day, it's only worth $25. I talked to some other small business owners around here, and that seems to be the one thing that's stopping many from accepting cryptocurrencies. (That, and not knowing what they are).
I did spend Bitcoin as well as Litecoin when I got some, but that was for IT services, not goods.
