I've been looking to replace my overly priced Comcast cable with an FTA Receiver and Satellite Dish. Is there anyone experienced with setup or just has plain information on the subject? I've been looking at difference Receiver brands and I'm not sure which one to choose, any recommendations? Know of any active forums for me to explore?

FTA is a bitch to get working now... I gave up long ago....
From what I understand: 1. Buy a Receiver 2. Buy a Dish 3. Set up Dish 4. Hook it up to the Receiver 5. Flash the Receiver with custom Firmware 6. Input the key for a satellite TV account (Usually Dish Network) What brand of Receiver did you try and use? I'm sorta leaning toward NForce for an HD one or if I choose non-hd I might get a NanoSat. |

Now you have to have a dedicated PC emulating the bitch 24/7,,,, its a whole lot more difficult then that.....
