Kinda hard to see how the slower ACH/Direct Deposit would improve anything.

ACH really isn't any slower.  Maybe by one day.

It is much cheaper.

OTOH bitfloor's customer service has taken quite a nose-dive.  It's getting to near-MtGoxian-levels of rudeness.

The printing press heralded the end of the Dark Ages and made the Enlightenment possible, but it took another three centuries before any country managed to put freedom of the press beyond the reach of legislators.  So it may take a while before cryptocurrencies are free of the AML-NSA-KYC surveillance plague.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I would like to know what happened as well? All recent support issues have been solved in a very friendly manner.

I believe you are referring to a cash deposit issue you had a while back. You simply failed to follow the specified instructions as as a result I was very clear that this would not be acceptable as the instructions are required for everyone. If you try to abuse the rules, we will be very direct with our responses. The process is in place so that things run smoothly not so you can decide how things are run.

As I said in my response, if you don't like the process, you are welcome to suggest improvements (and we do listen) but you are not welcome to ignore it.

Thanks for this.

For reference, I initiated a transfer on July 15 that took exactly 10 days to land in my Dwolla account. Did you submit a ticket or something to get yours in just a few days?

He declined to elaborate so I'm guessing his side is doesn't sound so good.
My customer service experience has been better than great.

No, I was actually pleasantly surprised when it occurred as quickly as it did last time. If it happens again, I have no idea. If it doesn't happen, then it may have been a fluke.

I've noticed that Dwolla transfers are down to about a week or less lately (I transfer money out of Gox almost daily).  Of course I'd love for them to be instant, but a week is better than two weeks.

So I figure the problem with Dwolla is two fold: You have to wire from your Japanese bank to an American bank, which might have a small delay and also might incur whatever checking needs to go on. Then, you ACH from the American bank to Dwolla, which takes a minimum of 5 days, because Dwolla likes to profit from the float. I'm guessing most of the "unknown" delay is on the wire side.

Give us a hint. Is it Dwolla related or something else?

So Dwolla withdrawls are taking around a week these days? Or has this changed at all?

I think it is more like 1-2 weeks.  Haven't seen anyone get one in less than a week.  There is some "luck" given you can't see the backlog.  Withdraw when backlog is low you might get it in a week.  Withdraw right after couple hundred people just jumped in line and it might be 2 weeks.  Still definately better than the 18-21 days it was a month ago.

I got one at 8 days right now.

Still far longer than it used to be.. The money  used to transfer from GOX->Dwolla inside 24 hours.. Now Dwolla shows nothing for a minimum of 7-10 days...

Opening support tickets with EITHER party is pointless. Gox blames Dwolla, Dwolla says "We see no money yet from Gox, nothing we can do".
