Dev has just released a new wallet version (for Mac OS only right now, Windows coming):

https://github.com/vtorrent/vTorrent-Client/releases/tag/0.8.3

lol, has just released in January 2018. Latest commit b86be0c on 1 Nov 2018

Interesting, though, that the release tag was updated with a new bootstrap .zip for the blockchain dated Oct 15th 2019 -- so presumably someone updated those release packages with the new bootstrap at some point in the past couple weeks. This project has been dead for years and yet the dev still periodically says something on Twitter, or does something like this showing activity on GitHub. I could understand it if the coin was still listed on an exchange, these little hints would make sense to pump a market or something. But why do these crumbs keep appearing on a legitimately dead coin, as far as price/trading goes?

My curiosity never ends with this shit show of a project. Cheesy

Nice catch!
I didn't see any recent (2019) activity on twitter, but Github update is indeed is a bit funny Smiley

Looks like the developer likes to keep things tidy, even when it comes to his abandoned projects.

... this space is not for rent ...

He Tweeted replies to people in January and May of 2019 - gotta look at "Tweets & Replies" tab. Wink

The May 5th tweet was: "Yes, it is still active and being worked on." when someone asked him if it was still going, heh.

So given Ordinals is all the new rage, I'm curious as to how this project turned out... I'm guessing not well?

I know ArWeave and a couple other coins effectively do the same thing, but this was the earliest attempt at it.

I have been knocking in all doors and not only that to make my voice heard. People just do not listen when they should. My task was to create a link between coins, vtorrent at one end and bittorrent at the other. However things have turned out in a very unexpected way, to say the least. I was told by the coin teams that they are no longer able to cooperate on the grounds that someone from vtorrent management staff insulted a binance rep assigned to the topic calling them a man eater. It is a sad story besides the fact that the rep is in fact a man eater and should have accepted that way of reference calmly. But gears had turned in his head and the rest everyone knows, the relationship between chains, sadly, ended.

The project pivoted to dark web data infrastructure in the early Summer of this year. It even got a mobile app but both it and the network are temporarily down after about a month of testing back in April.

Happy to update again once there's new information.
