When i 1st heard about Bitcoin in the past, i really thought they would use it as a token for the utorrent or other torrents. It has been while since the project started.
Is there any significant updates?
No there are no significants updates to report, the dev promises us features then goes silent for months on end and fails to deliver. I personally don't think he has the skills to pull this project off. If you are thinking about buying in, don't go too deep, there are better and more deserving projects out there than this one. LBC is about to release it's open beta, that should do well. LBC is basically a sham of a p2p project. They say they are p2p, yet everything is controlled by a company, which has shareholders, directors and corporate policies. They can takedown any material they want, at will. Which is fine. But don't go claiming to be a p2p project. So they are left with saying they are an alternative to Youtube. How many alternatives to youtube have actually managed to survive? Practically none.

VTR is the better solution, as far as decentralisation but how far off is it? No one knows. Sham or not, don't let that stop you from making money. It's working tech. LBC is about to go up in value for sure, it's upto you if you want to ride it and take profit. Let's see if i'm right about LBC, it's at 19k each now, we'll see how well it does over the coming weeks.

" No there are no significants updates to report, the dev promises us features then goes silent for months on end and fails to deliver". Errm, all very true. " If you are thinking about buying in, don't go too deep, there are better and more deserving projects out there than this one.". Just warning people don't put too much into this, as there much more deserving projects, in fact hundreds.

Too much whining. You think that new block explorer was a quick 30 minute job? Devs are working. You got something tangible and even got a decent update recently.

Well, it seems like things didn't go exactly like you planned and now you're having a tantrum and seeking "revenge" on the devs by promoting other coins in their thread. It's petty and you're bloating this thread with useless crap and dissuading potential new comers with FUD.
Also, my name isn't John. Seems like you jump to conclusions pretty quickly.

North Korea has working tech. It doesn't make it a good idea to invest in North Korea. I got into VTR because of a few people, in particular you. Don't let frustration get you down. ZCash is coming

Dear all,
This project is indeed still being actively developed.
Due to nature of BitTorrent sharing, we have been experimenting with the possibility of migrating ZEC's zero-knowledge to VTR core to improve users anonymity and try to do without needing of reseting the current chain.
vTorrent 0.9.1z will be the first version to incorporate the zero-knowledge protocol and if resetting the chain is needed, there could possibly be a fork of vTorrent-Classic running by community keeping the 0.8.x chain.
There are some other plan along with this new chain, which is still being in discussion in our team.
Regards, vTorrent
If you are going to create a ZEC fork, you should just launch it on it's own straightaway without any features to establish the network and allocate the distribution of coins. You then have time to fork in the BitTorrent features. ZEC is building some private messaging channels into the protocol, so you don't need too many other chat features. The ZEC fork sounds like it will likely be a PoW fork, unless you are thinking of creating a PoS version? Not sure you need to make this too complex, if anything creating a ZEC fork makes development much easier in terms of additional anon features needed.

This is as cheap as it gets. x100 from here trust me, with the broken promises, it will bottom out quick Not really broken promises. Just a group of devs that for some reason don't communicate. They want to have a community, but don't do anything to encourage one. So people get fed up and move on to another project. Some find projects with no dev, scam dev, etc. Some are happy to pay $100/coin because the devs of a project spend all their time communicating and talking to their community - regardless of whether their token actually has a real life use case or not. VTR could right now be worth $30m, if the devs actually just spent a bit more time keeping people informed. But they don't. I think it's their single biggest mistake, but that's life. So the people that know this project is a diamond in the rough, they are actively hodling and quietly accumulating. It won't dump down to nothing (I wish it did, I'd fill up another couple of bags).

Just maybe when we see the megaupload 2.0 that will be released by @Kimdotcom we will see something going to happen. It seems that the Devs are waiting for this.. as a form of testing ground on how the market will react and how those people in power (media moguls) will react.
