Let's show eachother how good or bad we are at trading by simulating trading in this game
The idea is that
you get a (virtual) USD balance and you can
either BUY BTC with your complete USD balance or SELL your complete BTC balance for USD.
To encourage "momentum traders" 2 trades need to be at least 8 hours apart.

RULES
§1 Everybody can join. Obvious troll posts will be deleted.
§2 You are not required to carry out the actual trades.
§3 Please post something in this topic if you want to join the game. Initial amount was 100 USD for people who registered before the start of the game. These players got a 100 virtual USD balance at 01 january 2015 00:00:00 UTC.
§4 New players after that deadline receive the equivalent of the
median score from all the players to cancel out a bull or bear market in Bitcoin. Check the scoreboard for the current median score.
§5 You can post a trade by simply posting "BUY" or "SELL". "BUY" means to buy BTC with your full USD balance. "SELL" means to sell your full BTC balance for USD. Also post the exchange rate at the moment of your trade.
§6 Two trades need to be at least 8h apart.
§7 We use exchange rate data from
the Coindesk BPI. Use the GLOBAL USD exchange rate (NOT the MARKET exchange rate)
§8 Volunteers will regularly check trades and update the scoreboard.
§9 Please notice that 'activity checks' can be carried out. Inactive players will get a penalty of 1%. You don't need to trade to be considered active. Post something in this topic from time to time and you are considered active. Keep an eye on the scoreboard for the activity checks.

FAIRPLAY: There are no prizes, this game is just for fun. Don't edit or delete messages, don't alter the actual exchange rates or "make a mistake" when calculating your current balance. When others notice intentional miscalculations, you will be deleted from the scoreboard and excluded from the game.

ACTIVITY CHECKThe activity check period is a 3 day period where the moderators check which players posted a message in the game topic and which didn't. There will be one activity check each month, more precisely in the last 3 days of each month. When an activity check is going on, you will get notifications in 3 ways:
1) you will see it in the topic title
2) It will posted frequently in the topic
3) your rank number will be colored on the scoreboard. green means OK, red means that you need to post something
additionally, you get a PM reminder for the first and second time you are in "the danger zone"
Penalty for inactive players:
first time: warning,
second time in a row: 1% of the balance,
3rd time in a row: 2%,
4th time in a row: 4%,
5th time in a row: 8%
6th time in a row: 16%
7th time in a row: 32%
8th time in a row: 64%
9th time in a row: removal from the game
