BitMiles (BTMi) BitMiles (BTMi) - the official cryptogenic equivalence of frequent-flyer miles (which is known to be more valuable than money). BitMiles can be used as a means of exchange and a store of value (very much the same as your traditional flyer miles). Our plan with BitMiles is simple - real world use and business adoption ! We aim to grow BitMiles into becoming the preferred (cryptogenic) ffm alterative, globally BitMiles will not be strapped down to a specific airline (can be used with/by any airlines that choose to partner with, and adopt the BitMiles program BitMiles holders will eventually (our aim) be able to redeem their BitMiles for air travel, air travel discounts (such as lounge access, class upgrades and additional benefits), and everyday goods and services (groceries/restaurants) - similar to your traditional ffm Unlike your traditional ffm, BitMiles will be non-unidirectional - allowing the back and forth exchange from BitMiles to/from fiat currency (meaning that you can buy/sell BitMiles without any hassle) BitMiles may be distributed by CC companies (as well as any other BitMiles partners) as an incentive - allowing you to obtain BitMiles (without having to participate in the actual mining thereof) Website http://bitmiles.org/White Paper & Roadmap https://www.dropbox.com/s/fl8m8b4d1odrocg/BTMi-White-Paper.pdf (Currently being updated) Block Explorer / Crawler http://blocks.bitmiles.org/ Contact admin@bitmiles.orgsupport@bitmiles.org SPECIFICATIONS Algorithm: Scrypt POW (N=1024, r=1, p=1) 0 transaction fees 60 Second block target (1440 P/Day) 6 confirmations needed for transaction Coinbase maturity = 120 - allowing spending only after 1hr30min Difficulty retargets once per block (Using DigiShield for protection against multi-pools and an over-inflation) Total BitMiles to put into cirulation = 4832660000 (4.83Billion) Linear designed mile production (reward will halve 3 x to a minimum reward of 300 miles p/block) Blocks 6 - 120 will produce 0 BitMiles (giving miners 2 hours to set up equipment) Block 120 - 44640 starting blocks (31 days) will have 500 BitMiles per block (lower starting reward to avoid pump/dump) After 31 days (initial period), block rewards will increase to 2400 BitMiles p/block (over 2 years mining period) Halving (/2) will start on block 1051200 and end on block 4204800 Mining operations will cease after year 8 (linear designed production of 4.83b) BLOCK REWARDS 0 - 5 = Premine of 0.08% for further development, bounties, promotion, giveaways, and payments (incentive based distribution) 6 - 120 = 0 miles p/block (giving miners 2 hours to set up equipment) 121 - 44640 = 500 miles p/block (low starting block reward to prevent pump/dump) 44641 - 1051200 = 2400 miles p/block (year 1-2) 1051201 - 2102400 = 1200 miles p/block (year 2-4) 2012401 - 3153600 = 600 miles p/block (year 4-6) 3153601 - 4204800 = 300 miles p/block (year 6-8) PREMINE 0.08% for further development, bounties, promotion, giveaways, and payments (incentive based distribution) STATS / RANKINGS Coming Soon DOWNLOADS Windows https://github.com/rspublishing/bitmiles-winqthttps://www.dropbox.com/s/5o416j5dw5yyxcs/bitmiles-winqt.zip?dl=0 MacOS Coming Soon Linux https://github.com/rspublishing/bitmiles-linuxqt Source Code https://github.com/rspublishing/bitmiles-source Sample BitMiles.conf rpcuser=username rpcpassword=password rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 rpcport=29155 port=29156 gen=0 server=1 addnode=95.85.60.246 addnode=104.236.140.97 PORTS RPC Port: 29155 P2P Port: 29156 POOLS http://ispace.co.uk/coindetails/?coin=btmisuchpool.pw/btmihttp://btmi.coin-miners.info/http://btmi.minerpools.com/http://btmi.binpool.com/ http://aikapool.com/btmiEXCHANGES LazyCoins Exchange https://lazycoins.com/trade#btmi-btcC-CEX Exchange BTMi/BTC Market : https://c-cex.com/?p=btmi-btcBTMi/USD Market : https://c-cex.com/?p=btmi-usdBittrex Exchange https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-BTMI SOCIAL Twitter https://twitter.com/bitmilesco Facebook https://www.facebook.com/bitmiles Reddit Coming Soon SERVICES / OTHER Market Capitalization (CoinMarketCap - Did you type the wallet unlock command in the debug window? From the Menu Selections choose Help -> Debug When the debug window pops up click on the 'Console' tab. Then enter the wallet unlock command. walletpassphrase <passphrase> <timeout> The above steps unlock my wallet so it does unlock after being encrypted.

Looks interesting. Will we be able to fly wit these coins? I don't think my flying agency will accept it... Hi cakir, One of our primary goals are to have BTMi accepted as an ffm alternative (by any partner airline, hotel, travel agency, cc company, etc etc) and to be used in the same way that your traditional ffm is used (see our short introduction). We have a full marketing schedule which also involves reaching out to airlines. cc companies and other relevant potential 'adopters'.

I like the long-term PoW block rewards involved. Get the miner pump/dump out of the way in the first year, then introduce merge-mineability with LTC, DOGE, SYS, etc. to guarantee a certain level of nethash. This will allow you to use a long-term history of network stability as a selling point to build relationships with airlines and BTMI reward offerers.
Develop proper contracts for merchant adoption and I think you'll have a good shot at wide scale cryptocurrency distribution amongst public users. I've thought for awhile now that a good way for cryptocurrency to achieve a new level of mass market penetration would be to use it as market-tradeable reward points/miles, and fund that through merchant programs.
To achieve market penetration on the same level as Air Miles and Aeroplan etc., you'll have a long road ahead of you, but it would definitely be doable with a clear plan. For merchant partnerships, I would approach NewEgg, Dell, and anyone else who is accepting Bitcoin as a medium of purchase. Lots of purveyors of digital goods will begin to accept BTC over 2015; as soon as you see a company in the news who's begun accepting BTC, hit them up for a BitMiles partnership.
Looking forward to your whitepaper, and mining in the meantime.

DEV, Yeah you'd better burn most of the 48.3 Million pre-mine (like 98% of it) or the coin will fail. These days you can't take 1% of an 8 year mining supply. Do some math. No one is going to mine it with you holding 48.3 Million over their heads.

About 45 million coins have been DESTROYED of the premine. This occurred in transaction d6ab6f201c62c2a73981fc6f981a80742d552408bc70d53df30254a1e67a2727. This drops the premine down to a much more reasonable 5 million coins, which while still somewhat large, is no longer years worth of mining. For reference, here is the transaction details. You can confirm that they were destroyed by the last vout of ~45 million being used for this transaction script: ""asm" : "OP_DUP OP_HASH160 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000 OP_EQUALVERIFY OP_CHECKSIG"," the long string of 0s means it is provably impossible to generate a public key matching this to spend the funds, and the funds are provably DESTROYED. PoW is way too long for a decent pump + you need big blockrewards in the beginning (for the instamine) and lower them afterwards. This is the other way around. Project itself is looking good, but I don't really like the mining scheme.

if you want on bittrex dev needs to go talk with them in IRC, thats the word on the street anyway.
A coin that was launched 3 days ago and is a clear (and I mean very damn clear) pump and dump was added to bittrex because the people made an actual request via IRC or email. So that's all BTMi needs. Preferably a request made from the dev

Thanks so much ! We have been in touch with several other exchanges. Hoping to have some feedback this week. While waiting, we will be working on a few needed things (from our bounty list). We will also be reaching out to a few airlines and such this coming week.

Great concept!!!! Strange nobody came up with this earlier... I'm a frequent travel having Miles and More as my primary programme but would love to see this coin in the future. Really really nice idea!!!! P.S. It would be good to partner maybe with GHA (Global Hotel Alliance)?

the premise of existing airlines accepting this token as payment is really unlikely from my perspective. I wish that pretense didn't have to be there to convince people to invest. But exchanges are getting behind it so maybe it will be a good one to speculate on.

I jumped off this flight as soon as I saw the premine, but I did love your gist there earlz Not really, the premine is already destroyed https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=892298.msg9843749#msg9843749About 45 million coins have been DESTROYED of the premine. Still, there is a premine there even if some of it *was* destroyed. I have yet to hear good reasoning (besides scammy excuses) as to why a premine is ever really necessary now. Ditto for IPO's.

Yeah, but that is tiny! I've mined 500k myself in just a few days. Hardly obnoxious and they have already been paying out for bounties. I really don't see the issue

lol, pretty much sums it up. for all of you that think this piece of software will one day be at the pinnacle of aviations customer satisfaction: wont happen because there will never be demand from the aviation industry since frequent flyer miles are nothing more than the result of a calculation that can be done with a calculator and as such has long and wide been integrated into existing systems. Also, frequent flyer miles are non-transferrable. Think about that.

Hi Folks Briehost will now be accepting BitMiles as an alternative payment method for their services. Simply get in touch with Briehost via their support tickets if you're looking to spend some BTMi with them (until we are added to their payments). This goes to show that BitMiles is a versatile digital currency that is not limited to a particular sector only! https://www.briehost.com/In other news ... We have been in touch with a few merchants that are interested in adding BitMiles as an alternative payment method (one of them being a travel agency and another one being a resort). We hope to wrap up a few partnerships within the next week or two. Details will be posted to this thread as we progress. Keep an eye on BitMiles

Hey guys My apologies for the short delay in posting update here. We have had a few very busy days behind us (BitMiles and non-BitMiles related) and things are easing to normal again. So, just to give a few word on whats happened/happening : 1. Block rewards will increase on block 44640 (that is 1925 blocks from time of writing this post). Rewards will increase from 400 BTMi to 2400 BTMi (good time to start mining). Speaking of blocks - our block explorer is live (in-house) : http://blocks.bitmiles.org/2. We have been in touch with several travel related merchants over the past two weeks (resorts, car rental agencies, cab services, and even airlines to name but a few), and have already had some good feedback from Ettalong Beach Resort (could possibly be the very first resort to start accepting BTMi in addition to the BTC they already accept), as well as a lodge. We are still awaiting feedback from most of the merchants we have contacted and we still have a boat load of merchants we need to get in touch with (which we will be ongoing). All partnerships will be posted here (as merchants accept/integrate BitMiles). Hoping to have the first relevant partner before the end of January 2015. 3. We have participated in the POD (Proof of Developer) program and are currently in review for our rating. Once our rating becomes available, we will add it where necessary. 4. We have rethought the airline (specific) adoption side of things and decided to alter the system a bit to be more accommodating to our users (also to give them ease of mind when it comes to using their BitMiles for what it was originally intended). So, the main reason for this change was : 4.1 we understand that not all airlines will adopt BitMiles as an alternative to their already existing frequent flyer program (perhaps not even one airline). Should NO airline adopt BitMiles, there is no way for you (the miner) to use your BitMiles with any airline as an alternative. So, what's the point of having a stash of BitMiles? This is why we are altering the system for direct and indirect usage with airlines (this will not apply to accommodation, car rentals, cabs, etc). direct usage will be for any airline that choose to use BitMiles as an alternative to their own ffm program indirect usage (exchange type system that we are working on right now), will allow you to exchange your BitMiles for Skymiles (Delta). This is just an example. Example : you have 4,000 BitMiles and you have a Delta SkyMiles account each BTMi is worth $0.03 (example) and each Delta SkyMile is also worth $0.03 (actual current price is $0.035 per mile: https://www.delta.com/buygftxfer/displayBuyMiles.action = the aim is to get BitMiles as close as we could to real world price) you exchange your BTMi for SkyMiles (via the exchange system) 4,000 SkyMiles is credited to your Delta membership account (all we need is your name and member ID/). Please Note: the bid per BitMile (BTMi) will be based on demand. At this stage, the price per BTMi is super low and chances of the 'indirect' system to work, is incredibly slim - unless we see the price increase ! We would hate to see this die. We don't want 1,000,000 BTMi exchange for 5 SkyMiles (you get the idea). Simply put - we need your help!BitMiles will be able to be credited to and used with fourteen different airline loyalty programs (as a start) : United - MileagePlus AeroMexico - Club Premier Air Canada - Aeroplan Air France - Flying Blue British Airways - Executive Club Cathay Pacific - Asia Miles Delta - SkyMiles El Al - Matmid Emirates - Skywards Iberia - Iberia Plus JetBlue - TrueBlue Singapore Air - KrisFlyer Virgin America - eleVAte Virgin Atlantic - Flying Club We hope that this new addition to BitMiles will bring more people on-board (both miners and merchants). Pun intended! Once this system kicks into effect (which should be by mid-Feb latest), notification will be posted here as well as our website and social streams. 5. BitMiles paperwallet will be made available this coming week (we are on the verge of finishing up). Then, we are also busy with the Mac OS X wallet which should be done by the end of this coming week. 6. BitMiles Whitepaper and website ( http://bitmiles.org) will be updated/revamped over the next few days. Happy mining

The initial 'starting block mining period' has come to an end and BitMiles rewards increased from 500 BTMi per block to 2400 BTMi per block! This block reward will remain for 2 years (next switch on block 1051200) to 1200 BTMi per block. Happy mining!

This coin will be dead very soon. BTMI team has failed to keep communicating and there are no big news coming up. I did very much like the concept but without any concrete agreements this coin is like any other. This was primarily reason why i jumped off.
Sorry and good luck

Please Note: the bid per BitMile (BTMi) will be based on demand. At this stage, the price per BTMi is super low and chances of the 'indirect' system to work, is incredibly slim - unless we see the price increase ! We would hate to see this die. We don't want 1,000,000 BTMi exchange for 5 SkyMiles (you get the idea). Simply put - we need your help!
Now that the block rewards are increasing to 2400, what do you anticipate the price will do?
Edit: I have another question too, how do you propose to have any "real world" use, when as I have right now 1 transfer unconfirmed after 12 hr's and counting.

Hello Dev, I like your coin and I have a question for you Have you considered changing to POS, mining is not profitable anymore and many small time miners turned off their rigs? so How about start fresh by switching to POS?

So i'm watching and see the fake price push. Wondering for how long it will last... just a PND there is no real news to push the price. 2 - 3 days and price will be at the same level. Especially with 2400 coins per block. Good luck

A coin will be delisted from bittrex if its daily trading volume falls below 0.2 btc for a week. So for now it is safe

So, who would be interested to assist a community takeover if dev continues unprofessional communication & contact? I have made some solid liaison work with some relatives w pull for 1 major carrier. This actually has a solid chance! Just need coin logistics & admin help if I tackle the business & marketing of any potential takeover .

I never dump, when I sell I always sell in small chunks I honestly wish you and the community all the best. I will still keep my word of contributing to any fund the community creates in the future. I have been saying that i like the coin from the very first days it launched. But i got to say i am p***ed off with the Dev like everyone is. I am not pi**ed off because he stopped communicating with the community, I am pi**ed off because only an idiot would start a really cool project like this one (you might say it is just another altcoin) and then just let it die. I said its a cool project because the market was a little hungry for a new scrypt coin (i love scrypt in the winter) and I cant believe that no one thought of the airmiles/bitmiles concept until he did. Anyway Best of luck spinladen and community

Heya Just FYI that we're mining BTMI as a merged coin on our multipool: www.xpool.ca and miners have the option to keep their BTMI when it's mined just by entering their BTMI address in their user settings. Cheers!

If you guys are waiting on "br0ken" to come back, then you have a long wait. This "developer" was simply an opportunist from a 3rd world country looking to make a few quick dollars from people that want to get on the next big crypto train.
If there are people that actually believe this has a future, then announce you wish to hire a real dev and hopefully move forward. Honestly I don't see where a separate currency for frequent flier miles is necessary, when a coloured coin or NXT asset would work just fine.

We mined BTMI until a few days ago when bittrex removed it. At this time there seemed to be 3-4 nodes, 2 from us, one from bittrex and another one. As we have stopped our bitmiles daemons and bittrex removed it, there is possibly only one or no node left. The only node not being us or bittrex was 71.175.81.45:29156 I believe, eventually this node is still up and you can sync from it.

I don't remember, I have pulled the above node from an email exchange with bittrex where I sent them my getpeerinfo. I restarted one of our BitMilesd but after 10mins I still have no connections. Seems like no nodes up anymore.
You can get the current blockchain from our node in the next hours before we shut it down finally, but it may as well be a fork - dunno:

I will buy 1 BTMI = 0,1 Satoshi Ok, send me your BTMI address and I'll transfer my balance. Once you received it you can pay me. It will probably be difficult as there seem to be no more nodes now, I have 0 connections.
