surprisingly nobody seems to be talking about this here.. there is a new coin since 36 hours.. let's talk here only about the mineable coin itself.. paycoin and gaw is a topic itself ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=857670 ) so let's collect the facts: Name Paycoin Symbol / Tag XPY Website https://paycoin.com/Github / Source Code https://github.com/GAWMiners/paycoinForum https://hashtalk.org/Client Version v0.1.2.0-ge3c013c Get Info RPC Version: v0.1.2.10-ge3c013c Protocol Version: 60004 Wallet Version: 60000 Hash Algorithm SHA-256 Proof-of-Work Scheme Proof-of-Work/Proof-of-Stake Coins to be Issued 12,500,000 Block Time 1.00 minute(s) Block Reward 49.00 coins Difficulty Retarget 1 blocks so do you think it's worth participating?

Unofficial Discussion could be added to thread title... as for XPY? I think it's just down-right fucked up they used Paycoin when a Paycoin has existed since like Aug of 2013

The difficulty on this is super erratic and not matching up much with the hashpower directed at it.. Anybody have any ideas what's going on with that?

Difficulty retargeting is each block, when a block is solved fast due to high luck the diff goes way up, this is what cause the huge swings in difficulty.

Their forum is moderated, just like any real forum should be. Your announcement is in fact biased, because of this: "gigantic ponzi-scheme.. but if you get in early enough, you can probably profit" This is your personal opinion not a fact aboult XPY, so this has nothing to do with an actual [ANN]. Well, it's up to the coins owners to announce their coins launch imo.
Exactly!

It seem that a payout bug occured, they're reconciling the payout manually and it should take some time, contact GAW support if you didn't received yours.

Difficulty retargeting is each block, when a block is solved fast due to high luck the diff goes way up, this is what cause the huge swings in difficulty. understood, my issue is the difficulty seems persistently too LOW.

I think this algorithm(s) are for scrypt. Use cgminer.
