How do people have 6/22 order dates? User BFL specifically said 6/23 was the first day of orders: orders placed in the first month (6/23 - 7/23). Timezone differences, I guess. I don't think timezones could explain it, because pre-orders began at 5PM PST (California). It is a bit, My script was written to get local date form an American timezone, Because I am ahead of you in time, It takes a day off assuming your not in that day yet. TBH I'm not much of a scriptwriter so I just left it as-Is.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's
computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be
reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

I originally pre-ordered 2x 4.5GH/s singles and then changed my order to a 1x 30GH/s unit (without losing my position in queue)

So with a pair of jalapenos pre-ordered, i can upgrade to a 30GHash device and keep my place in line. here's where my hatred of math fails me. the cost uplift is around 117% ($312 -> $663 - including shipping), but i'm drawing a blank on calculating the performance increase...9GHash (2 x 4.5GH jalapenos) to 30GH...is what, about 273%? so, just over double the price for almost triple the hashing....?
Just looking for a sanity check here that my math isn't completely farktarded...

The reason for this discrepancy is because they Jalapenos do not have a fan and thus they do not want to push it as much as the units with a fan. The Jalapenos have a niche market of people who want to try out mining as a cool thing to try out.

Can't help you with that but you may be able to help me. I have ordered 6 SC and want to order a mini rig however the costs of 6 SC is enough money that if I lose it I will not feel the pain. So there is the minor risk of bitcoin not working out and the huge risk of BFL screwing us all over. How can I take such a large risk when I an not satisfied with the information that BFL has provided so far. Is there anything you can point to that can give me more confidence to make such a large prepaid purchase? I wish I could just leave a deposit or put the money in a trust.
