Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

the date on my order should be changed to the 23rd.... UK time difference to the other orders would show my order date as the day after.

seems like sickstarr has the same date problem, I know he is from europe, so he might have ordered on 25th for bfl and 26th for him?

Has everyone seen the PRWEB from bit-pay?

it says over $250,000 in sales for the first 24 hours... that's a nice solid number we can use.

Oh, and we finally get the CTO's full name.

aye, and the 46k number Bitpay announced here on the forums put that to almost $300k. This was 200~+ orders ago.

If you're not excited by the idea of being an early adopter 'now', then you should come back in three or four years and either tell us "Told you it'd never work!" or join what should, by then, be a much more stable and easier-to-use system.

I failed to pay in time for 2045 and 1833. I imagine these are quite a few order numbers.
Enter as;

06/25/2012     2045 N     0     0     0     -     -     psilan
06/25/2012     1833 N     0     0     0     -     -     psilan

You should add a totaling column at the bottom, %'s of paid, ratios of Y:N. Presuming you are making this in excel Wink.
Also my 2058 was a wire transfer. Worth having a column for that? Paid = B(it-Pay) W(ire) or N(o). Probably too late for this though.

Instructions were received and the wire was paid today.

% paid might be added.  doubtful that many will report these order numbers however.

Bitpay doesn't send an email, just print the invoice page. You may have to refresh it to sow the paid status.

BFL did send a confirmation by hand a few days after I ordered my normal singles, but haven't seen anything confirming the ASIC singles yet.

Of course I got f*cked because it took BFL 9 days to refund my money after I cancelled my order for FPGA Singles. I would have been one of the first orders in (or at least the first 50).

May I ask, why not go for $100 more and get 12GH more?

Why is there so much confidence in BFL, and a willingness to pre-fund and wait months? I've seen more reliable Kickstarter projects make less money, while those projects arose without venture capital and with identifiable figureheads. With all the controversy surrounding the company I'm blow away by the almost viral success of a cheesy press release on a product that doesn't exist (yet). So can anyone convince me why I should drop $170 on a Jalapeno and wait somewhere between four to infinity months, given the time value of money, as opposed to just using that money elsewhere?

tl;dr why should I purchase a jalapeno when I could just use the money on an existing venture or elsewhere and earn value in the meantime

I know this is a rhetorical question. But just in case, you shouldn't imho...

Wow, so the only we receipt we get is the screenshot I took of the bitpay order? That is a little scary....
