Use ssh client like putty
Type the ip address of the miner on putty then click open.

The openwrt command line will open. Type the command there(sudo poweroff) Smiley

typically you ssh using Putty or Terminal (Mac) into miner as
Code:
ssh root@[yourmineripaddress]
it will ask for root password, type root, then return/enter
Code:
root: poweroff -d [number of seconds]
root: exit

instead of [your miner address] type 192.168.1.99 (or whatever)
instead of [number of seconds] type a simple number (2,3, etc), then don't forget to hit enter/return
this works great-very mild treatment of the machine with no X on restart. X could happen if you were overclocking, then switch PSU off and very soon back on.

Ahh, my bad. I mix it with Rpi command  Cheesy. Do not use the "sudo".
Code:
poweroff

or type the one on Biodom post  Smiley

PSU poweroff is absolutely fine. In the future you can get S3 support here or here.

I would recommend using the ssh method, poweroff and then after 1 minute, turn off the psu.

Neither is necessarily better, it's just really a matter of preference. It's not like there's a dedicated physical button to power off the miners, so you can do it either way. I like to do the PSU shutdown way of things as it's faster.

Found that 'shutdown -h now' makes it restart. 'halt' seems the best way to avoid a 'hot' power off

This command works really well with 'Awesome miner', I've setup an 'Action' button that allows me to shutdown all the miners
without switching them off when hot. I think this might extend the life of the chips as they won't get so hot.
