It's all existing bitcoiners buying bitcoin mining gear for bitcoins.  If there were no such thing as bitcoin; these transactions would never have happened.

To get justifiably excited about this sort of record breaking announcement we would need to see it being made up of thousands and thousands of small, every day transactions, that would have happened whether bitcoin existed or not.

I get more excited about people buying baklava (sorry if misspelled) for bitcoins than I do about people buying mining rigs.

bit-pay have over 600 merchants using it! That's what I am more interested in, not a company selling mining tools.

Have to say, Im surprised to read elsewhere you guys are still holding on to most of those bitcoins and trying to sell them "otc" as to not crash the exchanges. Since I assume you paid BFL in $ (or didnt you?), you are perhaps betting the company on BTCs future exchange rate on this one deal alone.

Granted, this is not your typical sale, but Im not sure this proves bitcoin is ready for these kind of deals; I think you could argue it proves the exact opposite.

Is there a directory that lists your customers (with their permission, of course)?    There may be businesses that accept bitcoin through Bit_Pay that I might would patronize but because I have no way of knowing of them, I'm not buying from them currently.
