I was a pretty passionate bitcoin miner throughout 2012-2013, but then effectively went on a hiatus when the price began to dip and mining was no longer profitable for me. Now that I have returned, and that some of my other commitments are over, what is the best way to earn BTC? Preferably through doing something, rather than purchasing BTC or hardware. E.g I started to mine with my own pc, meaning I did not have to buy anything to get started.

Where do you make your BTC from?

Trading in altcoin. Some of the active pairs like btc-doge is worth going into and is the most active thus far. Or you could even trade directly on btc-usd. But before you start off make sure you are aware of the risk associated with trading.

Offer your services over in the Service section or sell things over in Goods, or take part in one of the signature campaigns which is probably the easiest and best solution for you right now.

You can try to garage sale for btc. Find something you don't want anymore and sell it for btc. I had a couple of old iPhones that I was going to trade in for a new phone but sold them for btc instead.

You could also just sell items you have for fiat then use it to buy bitcoin. I've done that a few times as it's easier to sell for cash then buy I find. The market to buy things in actual bitcoin is small at the moment, though it is growing.

That's more what I thought. I've started to design websites, so I guess I'll see if anyone is interested. That could pick me up a couple of BTC after a while...

I really don't see many people going to garage sales prepared to pay in terms of bitcoin. Bitcoin does not have any where near enough of an adoption level for this to be a viable way to raise bitcoin.

chances are very good that you lose all your money in this case. stay with Bitcoin and Litecoin, that is risky enough. there is no "bitcoin killer coin".
