According to http://casascius.uberbills.com/ there are only 69 unopened bars out there.  Pics next time I can get to the safe deposit box.

Since you are specifically quoting the number of Active 100BTC bars (Not simply a bearer bar loaded with 100BTC), I would like to offer 110 (with absolute expectations of going higher).   Awaiting pictures.  Smiley

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Also, I can afford the 4 BTC item, my net worth in BTC is approximately 9.45 BTC currently +~$5,000 fiat. It isn't much but for a college student its not bad. However, I use that money for investing into the casinos' bankrolls and options, I don't consider that spendable money so yes throwing 4 BTC down on art is too much for me at this time.

So in other words you lied again here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=902935.msg9921626#msg9921626

4btc is too much to spend, but you are willing to give $10,000 away for a year and a half?

What else can one post but  Roll Eyes

I know someone who has 500 BTC and knows I am graduating so I can easily get a loan backing that statement from him or anyone else that knows me. I have no problem guaranteeing up to 10k on a 1:1 bet saying I will graduate which you still have yet to back your word with. I am willing to use any trustworthy escrow on this site for such a bet. Meanwhile your photos grabbing one of your fellow workers' asses on facebook still goes to show how inappropriate and a pig you are Martin Lawrence. Continue "calling out scammers" I guarantee in 10 years I will have a greater net worth then you and I look forward to that day. I'll always remember you as the guy who claims to calls out scammers but pointedly posts sexually harrassing photos of himself in the act to his facebook. For once just shut up Vod, if I use escrow there is no way I can scam so stop your bullshit. Unlike you I actually have some motivation and drive in my life. What did you do this past year besides be a crappy security guard? I'm sure you saw zero action and enjoyed reading your magazines. Meanwhile I set up and registered two LLCs, made 10k+ in returns in a couple months on my first business and am in the process of setting up my 2nd, again profitable business.

So yes call me a scammer all you want Vod, you still just shout air at me trying to catch me tripping when you refuse yourself to back what you state. You say I'm lying about graduating, I offer a simple bet if you truly believe I'm a liar, you still refuse to make that and instead just make the usual "you're a liar" statement. Say something different, say something that proves you believe what you say cause you obviously don't. You must live a boring life as you troll and say things you don't mean or want to back up and actually prove you believe what you say.

Want to wager your bitcointalk account vs my $500? I'd even do that deal and mock your account once I own it after I graduate. Done with Vod, putting him well on ignore and banning him from my threads (thru auto-moderating).

Great ignore him...tired of reading your mindless rants about him..we get it you do not like him. Try moving on from the subject already..

I'm tired of him bothering me. Tell him to mind his business, if I commit a scam or say you send first then obviously call me out. Vod stalks every post I make when everytime I say straight up I will send first if trustworthy or use escrow. He starts this shit, I never do.

I have PMed pics of the bar to John K. with a handwritten sign for archival purposes in the event I decide to sell this bar.  I decided I am not ready to yet.  Perhaps I have unrealistic expectations of what the bar is worth, and I don't want to get flamed or offend anyone by pretending to be a serious seller at this point.  I was thinking 150 as a starting price, but I have the feeling nobody wants to come close to that.

As time goes on and these things get a little bit rarer, I will probably be back and reference this post, and hopefully John K will be around to help with the transaction.  Thanks guys..

I would be VERY surprised if you get anyone to come close to a 50BTC premium on the bar.  Good luck with your sale!

Yes, but why not get more?

If it's simply a bearer bar loaded with 100BTC, then it is worth 100.8BTC to me.
If it's a 100BTC bar, then it's worth way more than that.   Since the OP hasn't chimed in, I am guessing this is a dead thread or simply a bearer bar.  Either case, if I had a post with 100BTC in either type of bar, I would be replying.  Hint.  (Sending JohnK pictures doesn't answer the original question.  Sad

From the photos that was shown to me, it's this (pic shown is from casascius, it looks like the leftmost one, with a hologram):

....

I'm planning on offering them in two versions:

1 - a 100 BTC bar with a hologram, which works just like a Casascius physical bitcoin.  The hologram itself will be specific to this product and will say Casascius 100 BTC directly on it.

He responded to me directly and said it was in fact a 100BTC bar (not simply a bearer bar later filled with 100BTC).

So, I would happily offer 120BTC for it if he got serious into selling it.  I would love to get it auctioned with an end date, so that I could follow it and bid accordingly.  Smiley

I feel bad for having to ask this but I'm just not getting it. WTH is the difference between a 100BTC bar / bearer bar loaded with 100BTC.

100 BTC is 100 BTC.

To be decided...

100 BTC is 100 BTC.

The bearer bar was a blank bar (like a piggy bank) - no funded value.   YOU fund the bar using the public address by putting coins in it.
Those bars go for about 1BTC (approx).   So, if you fund it with 100BTC, then it would have a value of about 101BTC

The 100BTC bar was a bar manufactured (stamped/embossed) with 100 BTC on the face.   There is only so many left (69 currently).  So, way more rare.
This bar already contains 100BTC when Casascius produced/shipped them.  Because they are rare, they are worth more.

In either case, you would pull the sticker to redeem the private key and the coins contained within which would lose the premium price of the bar itself.

The picture in the prior posting is of 3 bars.  1 is a 100 BTC bar, while the other 2 are the piggybank style.  Of course the picture is prior to Casascius having put on the security stickers.

And this scammer tries again.   Geesh, give it a break.

Note:  0pusdigitus is NOT Opusdigitus

Hi,

If that is a firm and serious offer of 120BTC I would be happy to accept.

Must insist on Escrow though due to the value of the transaction.

As John (John K.) has shown an interest in my thread -

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=903268.20

I suggest using him for Escrow.

If you are happy to proceed drop me a pm and ill get in touch with john to make the arrangements.

Don't think many people have that much BTC to just spend on a bar.
I guess you'll probably get the most holding and waiting for a collector. Alternatively, redeem it and sell the bar. May not be a wise idea long term though.
