Its not to say I am not a gambler but anything over 3 months payback is a no go for me.  That was a hard lesson learned.

Tired of substandard power distribution in your ASIC setup???   Chris' Custom Cablez will get you sorted out right!  No job too hard so PM me for a quote

So I must be doing something wrong.

I can give you $1000 and get 2 SP20s in a few days that maybe will get me $1000 in BTC back in roughly 105(ish) days time barring large swings in price/diff and cheap power.

-OR-

I can go buy $1000 worth of BTC right now which gives me almost 3 of them... again, right now.

All I see is the risk and not the payout. What exactly am I missing.  What are you gambling on?

some, like the OP who got 30, will sell on ebay, amazon for $750-800.
the count is actually at 146 units right now and someone even gave extra 0.001 BTC (paid 0.041) must be raskul  Smiley

Different situations. Don't judge by the past when we were having +15% difficulty increase all the time. Now the difficulty stopped and even if it will go up it will go much slower than before. People are also using these miners as feet/room warmers so some may have different personal reasons that are different from yours.

...and... as philipma1957 quite correctly stated earlier last month... his SP20's (in his region with his power costs) will remain profitable all the way to 100bil difficulty. Now, my electric is not quite as cheap as his but i'm good til ~90bil. After that, i'll dig em out in winter every year.

~0.5W/GH - 0.295$/GH

It's too bad you had to resort to deceitful advertising. This was a good deal without fudging the numbers.

You cannot get .5 J/GH and $.295/GH. If you run this at .5 J/GH you will be paying over $.6/GH.

The title character limit is small so fitting everything is hard. I did this kind of advertising on my previous GB and nobody complained. Also there are 13 links with reviews + efficiency graph so I am sure that everyone that is joining this already know what are they getting into.

It is great gear  but I now have 8 of them  no room.. well not enough power in house is more accurate.

I am getting an s-5 for demo review I will post comparisons.

Replace the dash with an "or". It's only one extra character.

What was the ROI in fiat from HODL'ers who invested a year ago?  I'd say miners fared better than HODL'ers in the past 12 months...

Depends if they paid USD or BTC, and where they ordered from. Tongue

You get the most fiat by having the most bitcoins. Always calculate your ROI in bitcoins.

I don't know if I'd take that bet.  After the S-1, most miners wouldn't mine more btc than what it orig cost in btc to purchase them after power costs.  Now buying hardware, mining and then selling hardware and replace with newer equipment definitely made money.

You should always calculate your ROI based on BTC, even if you paid in fait for your miner. If you paid in fiat and if you hypothetically did not buy your miner then you could have purchased bitcoin.

This is especially true considering how both the price of bitcoin and the difficulty increased last year for all the people who got suckered into buying preorders
