I wrote an email to BFL about 4 days ago but no answer yet. I post it here too to get some atention.

As I see BFL now let us preorder the new ASIC products. I know tehere is an upgrade option, but I might do not want to receive the FGPA single and send it back straight to you and than spend on shiping cost twice (88 dollar each) plus the cost of shiping the FGPA back.

On your site you state the shiping time for the FGPA single is four to six weeks, but on the bitcointalk forum I read in reality it is more likely 10 to 12 weeks, which in my case would be September anyway.

Could it be possible to change the order for 2 FPGA Single into 1 ASIC single and I would pay the difference in bitcoins. I paid $1,286.00 for the FGPA singles and the new single would cost $1,387.00 so the difference is $101

I read in the trade in policy that you would not do that on FGPA singles but that might be just the case in singles which already produced. My FGPA single orders most probably did not reach production state so you would not loose money and could save me loosing money unneceseraly.

Alternativly I could get some jalapenos instead for the $1,286.00 that I already sent to you if that makes sense. Or you could send me back the BTC I sent to you , because I do not have an other $1,486.00 to upgrade the 2 FGPAs which I did not received yet and which would be completly useless by the time I will receive them.

Dear BFL

10 days gone and no answer whatsoever.

How long does it take to process emails?

I sent an email asking about my existing Single order and received a reply back two days ago. In total it took 11 days to receive a response, but unfortunately I wasn't asking about the upgrade process. Sorry.

It is good to know they did not forget about me, they only just very slow. Thanks for the reply.

They are being flooded with questions. An answer will take time.

17 days gone from my original email and no answer yet. I read it somewher on this forum, they will allow this option for nondelivered fpga units but I have no confirmation. I understand BFL needs time to answer an email because they are loaded, but 17 days?

It is better to post questions in a closely watched forum thread than send emails to BFL.

Does BFL post on the Newbie pages? Seems like they would be on Hardware.

I also not-too-recently ordered a BFL Single FPGA, a week later sent an email asking for confirmation or anything on my order. Still haven't gotten a reply a week and a half since then.

Good to know others *do* get replies after a while of waiting, but I'd like to get my post count up and hop over to the Hardware section to see if I can rouse them there. (Wink)

Well, I hope what I just did is going to be allowed:

I just recently ordered an FPGA Single and an upgrade to an ASIC Single 'SC'.  I figure I should get the Single before the Single SC is ready to ship, and I did it this way in case the Single SC ends up getting delayed, as new products often do.  I hope this isn't going to cause me problems if my Single gets delayed and the SC launches on time - so my FPGA Single still isn't with me when my SC is ready to ship...

@vandordeak: where did you see the BFL policy that they won't let you do this?  (I don't care that much about shipping costs - I just don't want to have my ASIC Single order cancelled and lose my place in the queue if when it's ready to ship I still haven't received my FPGA Single.)

Oh, and just to add:

I got an immediate automated confirmation from my ASIC upgrade order, but still no confirmation for the FPGA Single order - only been a couple of days, but seems odd that one was acknowledged and the other not - does this tally with other people's experiences, or should I worry?  I paid with BTC, and both payments were in the same block, so it seems odd that one has been acknowledged and the other not - I'm just hoping that the FPGA order confirmation is a manual process, unlike the ASIC orders....
