You're all welcome! bitcrate currently empty. btcfree is down; 502. Will check it over the next couple days to see if it is gone for good. ( it has been empty for a long time ) and the DailyBtc scratch-off seems to be working again.

Found this yesterday: http://yli.beReally poorly made and looks unfinished, but i did manage to get some btc. Thanks. Some may find this interesting, but it doesn't qualify as a "free" bitcoins site, since it requires you to visit sites to "earn" your bitcoins, and so will not be added to the OP.

coinbase.com is up for me. You mean their promotional bitcoin giveaway? That is on hold. When they do more with their site they may bring it back.

Hello there forum members. I was bored waiting for my poker funds to process, so i created a game. Each of you, who visit http://yaloveit.net/coingame/ will be given a personal random number between 0-10 000. You will have to guess the number in order to win a $1 BTC-E code. The site will tell you if you need to increase or decrease your guess. There is only 1 prize in the game, so when someone has guessed the correct number, the game will end untill ill add some more prizes. So be quick. The code will be visible only to the winner, and only shown once, so lucky winner, make sure to save it somewhere. I guess this somehow qualifies as a free bitcoin site. Anyway, make your choise. Let the game begin. ps. i have lots of more ideas for free bitcoin sites. if you want to donate to the prize pool, here: 15tBU3NgVc1cmat4CuwQEei9fqMVdb69i6 edit: Aand we have a winner, grats, whoever you are.

Good question. Let us know what you find. I believe I got .004 BTC, the same as what showed up 4 times on the "ticket", so no increase.

One more, hope a bit of self advertising is ok where relevant. http://btcfaucet.com/Only meant to give BTC for actual beginners though, and not daily. More restrictions apply than with other faucet sites (no proxies allowed) but pays 0.003 for Google and 0.003 for Facebook connect (0.006 total). Please only use this is you really're really just starting off. I'm hoping this will help a lot of people a bunch, and not a bunch of people a lot :-) Cheers!

I set a password as suggested. Copy/pasted it in both of the fields there and then hit the "set password" button. It brought up another page asking for that password again, which I pasted in, and hit the "open wallet" button and received the message "Invalid password". hmm... What gives? I am glad I didn't link my google or facebook accounts to this, as you ask people to do.

hit the "open wallet" button and received the message "Invalid password" Sorry about that. Any chance that you used one of these browser-automatic-password-generator type thingies that do not respect the max width of the password input? Since you obviously don't have BTC in it yet, there's no risk involved so I'll be happy to help you get back the wallet if you send me a PM with its address.

Any chance that you used one of these browser-automatic-password-generator type thingies that do not respect the max width of the password input? I create an entry in a password manager and just copy/paste from there. I use more than 20 characters with upper-case/lower-case/special-characters etc. Do you have any restrictions on what a person can use as a password? Since you obviously don't have BTC in it yet, there's no risk involved so I'll be happy to help you get back the wallet if you send me a PM with its address.
That's okay. I don't trust online wallets... except ones like blockchain.info/wallet which doesn't store the private keys on their server. No offense, but how do we know you aren't just creating a hacker database with those passwords cross-referenced to the aliases, names, email addresses and other information you get when people link their google and facebook accounts to your wallet? How do we know you won't just run away with the BTC that people deposit at your wallet?
