Dailybitcoins and bunnyrun are both extremely slow today...  stuck at "connecting..." for several minutes now.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving.

Hi,
Do you happen to have dyndns client installed? I use dyndns resolvers and it was very slow for me to connect to bunnyrun.co.cc too. I changed to my ISP DNS servers and it solved the problem.
Hope this can help you and som users experiencing the same issue.

Born to be a bunny racer  Wink

Dailybitcoins seems to be going faster now.

kickme.to/goxkeygen added to the OP.
MtGox account needed to redeem the code one receives.
Very small payouts ( in the 0.00001 to 0.00003 range it seems )
and an annoying popup ad which might turn some off.

From the New to BitCoin? Start here! sticky in the Bitcoin Forum > Bitcoin > Bitcoin Discussion forum:

Where do I get free bitcoins?        Discussion thread here

If you have a site that gives out free bitcoins, or know of one, then please submit a link to it in that thread, or this one if you are still on newbie restrictions.
Any input is welcome including a quick "thanks" or "hello".

Thanks

And I suppose I can just list them here as well:

Note: Many of these sites only payout once a day, or even less often, to save on transaction fees, so don't get too worried if you don't see a payment for several hours.
If after more than a day or two you still don't get anything, or you have any other problems, post in this thread. Some of the operators of these various sites follow this thread.
Also note the * beside some entries and what it means as explained under the list of entries below.

Is everyone noticing regular payments from them now?
If so I will remove the * from its entry in the OP.

I'm curious...  do people prefer sites that give out small amounts more often ( e.g. hourly instead of daily )
or sites that have larger prizes but where one may not get as often, or have as many chances at, a larger prize?

Or are there other options that would be preferable to either of those ( while still being reasonable
for the operators of free bitcoin sites ) ?

More often is cool in a way, but overall it's a bit of a pain to have to interrupt what I'm doing all the time to avoid missing my chance to get more. Larger prizes once a day or less is more convenient.

You have to balance them.

I like getting something for a visit, but if it's a teeny amount, it is not worth my time there.

I also like getting something GOOD for a visit, but if it is a 1 in 10000 chance of getting a decent payout, it's not worth my time.

If your prize takes 50 visits to make the equivalent to a penny, not worth it.  If your prize needs two months worth of visits daily to maybe see it, it's not worth it.

As for visits,  once a day is good.  Besides, many of those sites are earning their revenue by advertising, and if you hit it many times a day, it may not count for credit for the ad view.

As a new bitcoin user, these little free amounts are a lot of fun for me, especially when I'm sitting at work with nothing better to do Cheesy

It's just small amounts, nothing I can really apply to something, but I still feel like I'm earning...kind of like playing project entropia Tongue except I always lose money there...

Kinda like with gold mining perhaps.  Some people form big companies and set up big mining operations,
but some just like to find a mountain stream and try panning for it, not expecting more then a few
flakes... and perhaps gets lucky with a nice little nugget on the rare occasion.
