Today i looked at a few of these site which give out free bitcoin.. I give my address and did what I needed to do for the bitcoins but still not had any bitcoins.. How do these sites wok?
Most sites pay out every 24 hours to save on transaction fees. Can you please explain how this transaction works ? Say, if bitcoinget were to pay me 0.00010000 (10000 satoshi) how much of a transaction fee does bitcoinget incur and where does this transaction fee go ?

Currently on the front page they display this: Faucet Balance: 0.056812 BTC But yes when you submit an address: "The faucet is dried up, please consider donating to help the less fornunate" If it stays like this for too long it will get an * and then eventually be removed from the list if it stays empty. Err, I just submitted mine ok. Supposed to be a payout after the next 25 submissions. I'll let you know if I get one. Thanks for the report. I was able to get a submission in as well.

Late 2011/early 2012 Just from faucet type sites... 0.0005 -> 0.001 was common... 0.01 -> 0.03 now and then... 0.05 not uncommon... a handful of 0.1x or so... yes I got a whole bitcoin once...

Thank you for the historical facts. I hope bitcoin will become so valuable one day that we will look back with awe at days where payments of 0.00000005 BTC were common

Of course buying BTC between $2 -> $5 was much better than using these faucets and other sites. And even at $120+ I still think we are in the early adopter stage. There is still a lot of upside.
