Tux, how many kids do you have into bitcoin ?  I got a very small bitcoin-esque treat for them...

Also how is getting badges looking ? And would you prefer cash at the shoot for them or bitcoins, ontop of my btc to cash exchange we are doing?

Just one kid. Thanks for the treat!

I think I might be able to pick up some badges on wed night. I'll have to ask around but i'll keep you posted. I can take the cash for bitcoins anytime. If you don't have reception at the shoot, we can do it back at the rio sometime.

I will be there and will bring Casascius Coins for anyone wanting to do a deal in person.

Awesome!, I was hoping to buy some coins...

We will meet up for sure..   ok ?

Sure... We get in Friday afternoon and are staying at the Rio itself.

Companies claiming they got hacked and lost your coins sounds like fraud so perfect it could be called fashionable.  I never believe them.  If I ever experience the misfortune of a real intrusion, I declare I have been honest about the way I have managed the keys in Casascius Coins.  I maintain no ability to recover or reproduce the keys, not even under limitless duress or total intrusion.  Remember that trusting strangers with your coins without any recourse is, as a matter of principle, not a best practice.  Don't keep coins online. Use paper or hardware wallets instead.

Dang!  I almost forgot about the Defcon threads.. Shocked https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=74038.msg819615#msg819615
I'll be there, and at least one other bitcoin nerd from work is attending (although he is lazy and never checks the boards).  I'll skip the shoot this year, so if you meet anywhere on-site at the Rio, shoot me a PM or post it.  I'll look at the schedule and figure out my game plan tomorrow.  Anyone up for a bitcoiners challenge?  Lockpick village?

I see the value of Bitcoin, so I don't worry about the price...

Bitcoiner challenge?

My kid likes to spend a lot of time in lockpick village - it's just a matter of coordinating all the events and free time. I'll tweet my locations and updates under @Tuxavant for those interested.

I'm local in Vegas / if any defcon bitcoin guys need anything at all, even just small stuff like info on where to eat:

(don't eat at rio - take a 4 minute cab ride to chinatown extremely close proximity to Rio

-- pho kim long
-- Lee's sandwiches
-- DJK korean BBQ (has tofu in the google maps search for some reason, but it's not tofu - it's "meat headshot" as we call it / they cook tons of meat in a table-grill)
-- google search "ramen" - there are a ton of them - new style japan-based awesome soup + noodles
-- thai noodle house 2 - the top thai place - get the potstickers

I'm flying FPV race drones these days. Check out my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/MiconFPV

I just heard about this last night at the shoot, but it sounds amazing. A little farther off the strip, but may be worth it..

We should do a quick on-site meet and greet.  A quick chance to put faces to the forum names ant talk as much or as little about Bitcoins as we feel like.

I don't know how many of you are checking the forums--but I'll propose the a quick chat at the Chill Out Lounge today (Sat.) at 2PM. Just look for a T-shirt that says "It's only funny until someone gets hurt...then it's hilarious!". If you see me earlier, say hi.
