btcjam is good but they have very lengthy procedures and that is really irritating as you need to provide them all the proofs related to your id and income and majority of us try to avoid to disclose the identity.

There is BTCJam that does that, yes, but there are also scams on BTCJam where people are taking out smaller loans to build up trust and then proceed to back out of larger loans and run off with the money. There isn't any real way to stop it, sadly, so I guess you should just give out small loans for now and hold off with bigger ones.

With all these things, you need to apply risk management principles to ensure you don't get hurt.

Suppose you have $1000 worth of coins to lend, for example purposes. and you want to earn a 5% return.

The first principle of risk management is to split the into five and lend $200 to five different people. That way if one defaults, you still have £800.

The second principle is to adjust your interest rate to ensure you make up your losses. So charge them all 7%, and if all pay back, you are really in profit but if one defaults, the extra interest from the others makes up for it.

People have both mixed feelings since of peoples previous past experiences.

But the only way you can actually see if these sites provide a legit loan or not is making up a way to recover a small loan .1 btc. Test your way to growth.

It's ultra scammy. The scammers are aware of the amount they will get chased over, but most are just brazen.

I would go with BTCPop or Loanbase now...BTCJam just does not provide as much information on each user as the other two...when making a decision to invest it is good to know that on Pop and Loanbase you can click to the FB/Linked In/etc..  page and actually make your own decision as to whether it is legit or not...BTCJam is too protective of the screening data and the fact that you cannot discuss/ask questions about the loan before you invest is also a major negative.

I agree that for all of the major lending sites it is in the end up to the investor to chase after deadbeats/scammers, the lending sites have little incentive it seems.

I think poloniex they are also offering lending and you can make 1% interest per day to give loans from someone..
I never tried btcjam because it needs more real info about my self..

I have used btcjam before as both a lender and took a small loan to fund a project, Basically it's an amazing system overall but would not work mostly because of the scammers, People taking small loans and then defaulting in the first large loan..

Yeah I have seen a lot of ridiculous loan attempts on Btcjam for such causes that no sane person would loan money to. Looks like some people are so desperate for cash that they would go to great lengths to rip off other people for really minuscule amounts. There are even serial loan scammers who upload fake information and continue taking out loans and running away without repaying.

I am using BTCjam but the amount I have invested in very small. Just play with it and have not withdraw anything yet.

It seems like a legit service to invest BTC, but time will tell. My advice is to invest what you are afford to lose....

Have you gotten any defaulted loans yet?

I`d be surprised to see how many default and then if you can post that here, that would be great insight.

And when you say small, how much like 0.1 btc?

I'm using Getline and BtcJam to invest in loaning. I have to say I don't like Getline at all. It's not intuitive and extremely shady in configuration.
But BtcJam is extremely cool and you got great investment opportunities here.
