I think the OP preemptively undermined you by not phrasing their headline as a question. But Bitcoin's 'virality' has been and gone. There might be another wave in a few months/years I suppose.

With Microsoft enabling Bitcoin payments for Xbox stuff, that will make Bitcoin go viral a lot quicker and more new people will want to check it out and see what it's about. I think it's a good thing that such big companies like that is getting behind Bitcoin

Isn't that just people Googling 'Bitcoin bowl' rather than just Bitcoin. I'm sure some people did some online research as well though. Research doesn't mean use sadly though.

If only the viral word translate into adoption. The fact is that although bitcoin search volume can be high but most people stop at the stage of just checking what it is all about and not further than that. And sometimes the search relates to keyword that portrays bitcoin in a negative way like getting hack, price volatility, manipulation,

Exactly! We need real action here, buying and selling in higher volume, not just visiting and checking status of btc. Without this, value of btc will not recover soon.

well, clearly there are some indicator proving that more people know about Bitcoin. But with current falling price, the masses wouldn't buy into it, they only pay attention when bitcoin is being pumped, i.e. on a bubble.

No, BTC cannot go viral. Since it involves spending money (usually via a bank wire), it cannot spread like a virus.

Don't know a lot about this viral thing for BTCBTCBTC, but all I wanna say is, I'm trying to evaluate what this thing actually is, and making people too learn about it in my circle. I'm trying to form a community for my city in order to let them understand this on how to use it, what are the features, etc. and also, will be opening a "Bitcoin Only Shop" soon in my place for this to go a bit viral in India...
