You probably know my original Thread from this URL
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=913172.20
Hi guys,

as all of you seen in the last months the Bitcoin Price is still increasing. And many other altcoins too. Also the upcoming Regulations seems to be not so healthy for the BTC.
So I thought: Wouldn't it be an Idea that we all together could decide us for a new 'King of cryptocurrencies', or just a new 'King of Altcoins"?
Maybe ohne with a small total amount of coins.
If all of us buys in on one Altcoin which would be the winner of this poll, than we would create a very big new major alt.
Or would you left the market completely for Company-Driven Altcoins? Like as the  PayCoin-Scam?!
If you don't find your favourite altcoin in the List, then just write and I would put it in the poll.
Everybody has three Votes and this Voting should end at the end of january.

Because so many asked me to add PoS-Only Coins (or other types of non-mineable Coins) i decided to Create a new Poll for them.
Like in the PoW-Coins-Poll feel free to make suggestions.

The original PoW (and PoW+PoS) Coins Thread is here:

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Wow I didn't know the Shadow project. From what I understood, it's similar to BitShares in the way that they are developing a toolkit for entrepreneurs to develop applications, however while BitShares main goal is to produce decentralized based companies, Shadow's is to develop anon-based apps. Did I get it right?

Stratis: Same supply as Ethereum + Masternodes + ICOs + Bitcoin a Core Dev. 90% cheaper than Eth. Do the math.

Amazing that people still get the BitShares name wrong 2 months after the merger happened and it was changed. I guess there needs to be more outreach here on BTT.

Anyway BitShares is obviously superior. Buying BTS, and then buying BitUSD is the only way you can escape this current crypto bear market while maintaining privacy. You can even earn a small yield http://bitsharesblocks.com/assets/market which will become a lot higher once the next uptrend begins.

"BitShares will resolve the problems arising from fractional reserve banking, naked shorting, and high-frequency trading manipulation. An equally important advantage of BitShares is that its developers are not simply faceless identities hiding behind anonymity on the internet"

NXT? Is this a pump thread or something?

XRP. Without a doubt.

I'm sorry, but NXT just doesn't have anywhere near the backing Ripple does.

Oh, and NXT is written in Java!!! WTF?

Now that is a newbie.
FYI: Ripple is not a crypto-currency and definitely not a Proof of Stake cryptocurrency.
Sorry. Don't believe me, you can ask Ripple:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ripple_%28payment_protocol%29

NXT is at least non-corporate, open-source and de-centralised, as well as being written in Java.

I've been a member here longer than you.

If there's demand, someone will build a NXT gateway for XRP. And it won't be in Java. Lol.

And it won't be in Java. Lol.

dude it can be written in paper for all i care! as long as it works and solves centralization!
if java is so vulnerable has anyone broken nxt yet? it looks like a nice sum of bounty on it.

im pretty sure most people who was once against nxt has already changed their perspective on nxt after all it has proven itself.
People are afraid of what they don't understand. that's what happened when nxt decided to stand out to be the first 2.0 crypto.
Let's face it, nxt opened the doors to a whole new level of crypto 2.0 competition, just like bitcoin, nxt is an innovator!

ps. you may have registered longer than other peoples but you certainly don't look like you have as much experience. XRP is BANK 2.0 it has it's own needs and has its own potential but it is not a crypto-currency, it is centralized.

Fuck Mt.Gox! Fuck Mintpal! Fuck Bter! FUCK kyc! Protect yourself use MGW! SUPERNET!

Sigh. XRP was designed from the ground up; fixing all (most of) the flaws of BTC in the process (such as energy, transaction time, etc.). XRP is suitable for the global economy with billions of users with each user performing 1,000s of transactions each year.

Nobody cares what proof-of-X system they use.

And anyway, if you really are a BTC zealot (and I suspect you are), you can always use a XRP-BTC gateway.

Incorrect statement. It's distributed.

From Wikipedia:
"It [Ripple] is built upon a distributed, open source Internet protocol, consensus ledger and native currency called ripples (XRP)".

Note: not centralized and not decentralised - distributed.

Hell, I even have rippled running here.

Regarding the design compromises currently being made by the NXT team (whoever they are) - why design something for the global economy and then go implement it in Java? Forcing people to have an up-to-date virtual machine running on their computer, not only rules out small low-energy devices (such as internet-of-things devices); it is a needlessly heavyweight implementation. I suspect those implementing NXT chose Java not by choice, but because they came from a Java house and aren't good at anything else.
