If you are reading this right now and you do not buy bitcoins at this price, you cannot ever complain about early adopters again.

At this price, anyone can be an early adopter right now.

Early adopters got in at the 0.50 to 50 dollar range last time around.  At $200, I'd say it's far from a sure bet you'd be on the winning end this time around.  But of course it's TO DA MOON everywhere I look on this forum, without any sort of technical analysis or explanation other than 'I believe in this technology!'

At the moment it is speculative.  You can believe in the blockchain technology and still think bitcoin will crash I think.

However, there is a vast amount of infrastructure being built around bitcoin the currency, which adds value (cash stations, merchant integration, etc)
And of course, lurking in the background is the entry of wall street, which would be a game changer imo.

Yeah, it's not going to zero any time soon. Even the main guy who maintains the BTC code said he'll hold onto some coins

Even with new merchants, the price of bitcoin is still tied to fiat.  And it's laughable seeing people arguing this idea.

So tell me, if 1 bitcoin = 1 bitcoin is all that matters....then whyaren't you able to walk into a dealership and buy a lamborghini with 1.0 btc? Why can't you go on overstock.com right now and purchase an asus laptop for 0.3 btc?  Yeah.  Because its purchasing power is forever tied to the U.S. dollar.

Assigning a fixed, 1:1 arbitrary value to itself doesn't work in the real world when you want to use it.  If its market value keeps dropping (which, this has been one of the first stories I've seen on the national news, which just happens to be the crash of bitcoin price tonight) no new individual investors are going to want to touch it with a 10 foot pole.  Lol, why would anyone want to sink money into an ulta volatile  ship while it's soaring head first to the bottom of the sea with no sign of rescue?

I don't disagree with you but can you really be smart and be an earlier adopter first time round?

You can't ever complain or say no one told you now.

Yeah. Whether you believe Bitcoin will go up or not, every man on the street knows about Bitcoin now. (Or so the bears do say!)

It's risky, but it always has been, it's the name of the game. It's never been a sure bet. At $10 people were spewing doom and gloom (and there was far, far less evidence then for success measured in adoption).

I agree. We haven't seen these prices since April 2013. This is a new entry point for a lot watching.

My definition of early adopters are those who managed to buy at less than $1 per pop. Even at current price and with 2000, I will only get about 10 btc. I mean if you ask early adopters what they have are mostly like above 1000btc. Those are true early adopters

I understand your opinion but there are professional investors who have been waiting for the chance. While they might not be "smart" money throwing 100k towards 100$ BTC could prove to be a shrewd move and that is how a lot of them are playing it.

Fair enough point Elwar
Can't have people whining since someone offered a good starting price got to thank the exchanges and the fiat conversions
BFL and a few others for that
(Hopefully we have went through the selling and conversion stage in 2015 and get more long holders)

This could mean bitcoin's new birth. Low prices and a fresh start, rid of scams such as BFL and mt. gox.

Exactly. This forum is way too open for my taste.
We usually have 2 situations: a) Price is high, people (FUD spreaders, trolls, noobs) complain about early adopters.
b) Price is low; the same people are claiming that Bitcoin is dying.

You can't just satisfy such people at all. I'm starting to think that hiring a lawyer and suing such people would be the right way to proceed. After all, law enforcement has started watching the web for speech of hate and the likes of it.
Wouldn't this apply to Bitcoin as well?

True but that is only for one looking at prices. When you take in we have seen microsoft, overstock, and google with their investments all have become more open to bitcoin maybe we can say bitcoin is just growing up and these are growing pains.

That is a possibility, yes. Maybe bitcoin is just waiting for enough volume to render it stable once again.

I agree with you.
Because of ''investors'' and their ''hunger'' for fast money, we have this situation with bitcoin.
They are in panic and selling everything.
When we get rid of them, price of BTC will stabilize and raise again.
After that, as suggested, we may become new Early Adopters Smiley

You probably made this thread when it was ~177$ (Lowest it go to)  , it's now 208$ .
Anyway , I'am pretty sure that early adopters bought it a lot cheaper , like a lot ... heard someone saying that it was 13$ for 1 BTC or even less. so yeah I guess they can still complain (I don't because I don't really care about the price to be honest)
