Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

and  bitmaintech sell 3 s-5's for   3 x 340 = 1020 coupons can be as high as 45 each so 1020 - 135 = 885 plus shipping of 118 total of

1003  ..    I do not think they will drop the price.

as 1003 after shipping and coupons beats 1199.

well I have 8 sp20's and 1 s-5   so you can see what I prefer.

I am in a private home and I do have the room for 1 more s-5.

I have to down clock it to freq 300 and add 2 delta fans but it would be quiet. 47 -48 db

I think I am going to do this.

I will have 8 and 2. about 12th and 6 kwatts of power

s-4 wants how much for power 1200 watts for 2000gh?  or more like 1350 watts for 2000gh.

not sure where you are going with this.... For 200$ more you get 5.1ths w/free shipping. Never used a spondoolies unit just going off price here.

Where by your numbers you're only getting 3ths and paying basically the same price -200$... And you're still paying shipping feeds :/ Personally I'd love to see bitmain answer with some type of blowout sale that we can't refuse on new and/or refurbed units. Not only do we have to factor the price difference but all the troubleshooting we have to do on the bitmain units. If I'm spending 2hrs/day maintaining my bitmain unites vs 1hr/day maintaining a spondoolie well that should be a factor..

Good lord. $479 a unit now. I'd buy a bunch more, except they are way too loud to run inside the house Sad Sad Sad I can mod S5's to run more quietly.

I sincerely hope future "home miners" from both Bitmain and SPTech will run much quieter.

Isnt it possible to mod the SPTech with a higher pressure, lower rpm fan?

It will be good if we have S4 for 350 USD and host it on our own.

Can we buy it with that price but no hosting?

@ Bitmain

You may want to consider selling accessories to your customers.

Something like a baffle box is a useful (reusable) item that can help with the noise.

Even though Butmain still hasn't responded, the net has. eg. ebay prices have plummeted since the announcement. (buy now prices, not auctions that have been going for over a week. They are naturally inflated before the crash and announcement)

Couldn't imagine it would be too difficult for a quiieter case/fan design given as many as they sell and markup value.  Probably good for them to hear our concern for next design.

I think friedcat will bring out something with decent cooling. They at least learnt their lesson the hard way with the last prisma line. Bitmain don't tend to listen. Just look at that ugly U3 they just released with terrible stats.

Please do it.  Smiley Sure they can find more quiet fans in China. Like this cheap one: Gembird DC120SF-12AS3.  Roll Eyes

70C at one blade and 66 at another. Ambient temperature is 27.5 C in that room (it's very good for my Gouldian finches). So the blades can be even cooler if ambient temp is lower...

I'm all in for SP20.  Made a trial order of 6 units and after some playing around we decided that theses miners are top notch quality build and the options are endless.
Downclocked all 6 units to 1.2 ghash and power around 620-640 at the wall.
Just as important 3 firmware updates in a week with extra features…. WOW.

My setup calls for sp20's over s-5's

but with proper mods the s-5 is okay other then it is really hard to stack it.

I would like to see Bitmain go back to not charging shipping.  The S5 doesn't weigh more than an s1 and I used to get s1's for under $200 shipped.

I agree, shipping charges are definitely something that wards me away from making a purchase.

You end up subsidising countries with high shipping costs. Either way though, you're still paying for shipping.

It is sad I think spondoolies is cutting their profit to the bone..but at 15c kwh here and the current price of $479 and $119 shipping
to the usa for a total of $598.00 usd I can't get that boat to float esp if as their tech specs state 1200 watts on the sp20.

Still watching but...STILL can't pull the trigger

I've got to say for those places in the world that have cheaper elec the addition of paypal purchases is gonna help a lot imho

but they designed these things in the summer when (if I remember right) BTC was 3x what it is now..so they got to be close
to just 'giving their miners' away at this point from a ROI point of view

anyway appreciate spondoolies offering paypal and etc ..but with ave elec in USA at 15c / kwh still hard to justify at 215 usd
btc prices

I can not wait to watercooled SP20, which was tested in October. My first SP20 offered to manually download the TEST  software for watercooled SP20 (Three days later, it was taken off from the list)

Bitmain partner Syscooling offers Watecooling Components for Antminer S5.
Components include cover,waterblock and fans.

yeah good point > I have been trying to figure out the shipping angle if you buy

shipping to USA New Jersey

     ups----------fedex-----------dhl

1) 47.77------- 46.87----------- 56.28

2)  83.59------ 75.62----------- 99.00

3) 118.54------96.10---------- 141.27

4) 146.46-----120.35----------181.98

Based on the chart  above buying 3 and using fedex to ship is the best deal for me.  3 x 310= 930 + 96.10 = 1026.10

 I have 3 coupons worth   130  so . 1026.10- 130 =   896.10

I am going to buy this today.

+1, though the 52-pack is really only a small savings per unit (compared with SP-T, where the 3pack is a savings of almost 25%/unit)

a well-priced 10pack of S5 would be an easy purchase

even at the new price, it still never ROI for anyone with + $0.1/kWh

Do most ppl here know there is electricity rate and there is effective rate?

Effective rate is what you should look at. It includes delievery charges + electrical rate.

Yeah if I buy the 3 I would keep one and sell 2 on ebay.

So a decent 10 pack would be good for me.

Better yet a  a 3 pack   in 1 box.  3 across  a long box need 4 foam packs not 6. So it could ship at 3 for 80 or 3 for 75. That is a savings then sell the 3 at 750.  grand total of 3 for 825 vs 3 for 1020

I have packed 3 and 4 s-3s'  in one box save on shipping and packing.

As an aside I have

5 30 dollar coupon's
1 40 dollar coupon's
2 45 dollar coupon's

The website is not allowing me to mix the s-5 coupons.

so if I order 3 units.

my options are use 3 of the 30's for 90 off
use the single 40-------            - for 40 off
 use the 2 45 off ------------------ for 90 off

well I what to use the 2 45's and the one 40 for 130 off  the 3 pieces   .   I can't.

I hate shit like this.  I have the coupons I want 3 units and the programmer has done a slight fuck up by not allowing a mix of s-5 coupons.

Actually to anyone that has 1x 45 dollar coupon please send it to my bitmaintech account  philipma1957.

So to : bitmaintech  please give me a 45 dollar coupon  my name on you site is philipma1957 same as here.

I would then have 3 s-5 coupons and be able o get the best bang for my buck.
Or tell your web developer to allow any and all  s-5 coupons to be used on the same order.

look at these coupons I should be able to use the 2 45's and the 1 40 for 130 off my 3 unit order.  I can't.  If you send me a 45  it will fix the issue.

even at the new price, it still never ROI for anyone with + $0.1/kWh

Do most ppl here know there is electricity rate and there is effective rate?

Effective rate is what you should look at. It includes delievery charges + electrical rate.

my elec is around 8 cents / kWh.
If each S5 is $310, + power supply $100 + shipping $15, I'd be looking at $425 total cost per unit.

ROI is around 8 months, provided that difficulty and price remains constant.
8 month ROI timeframe is a little too long for me to be comfortable with.

A price drop of $100 per unit (to $210 each) would put me near 5-6 month ROI, which would be a reasonable investment given the risk.

I don't keep spare psu's just lying around. lol. (ones I already have are plugged in).
And psu's should be factored into costs since they are necessary to run the hardware.

well depends if you are like me and mine in an attached garage you know your max watts.

you buy stud psu's with long warranties they outlast your mining gear which is disposable.

I can max 6000 watts 24/7/365 in the winter.

5 evga 1300 g2's and I am there.  I do not have to buy anymore psu's as they have 10 year warranty.

I have 5 evga 1300, 1 evga 1600 ,1 seasonic 1200.

keep a spare psu and you never factor in psu cost again. Since you can cover  max watts.

So psu cost is meaningless to a lot of older longer miners such as myself.

Not to say your way is wrong it is different and if it works for you cool.
