Does this insure BTC bound in assets too or does this only cover GLBSE-BTC roaming freely? I have assets that are maybe over 100 BTC if I liquidate them at current bids right now and are considerably higher (of course) if I sell them at current market rates.

Does this also cover crashes of individual assets? Also crashes of underlyings of assets (pirateat40, whatever mrb's or OBSI's "high yield investments" are...)? How will you determine how high my account on GLBSE really was if GLBSE is down + eaten by Godzilla including all backups?

Generally I already thought about insuring my GLBSE account + assets with CPA, I still don't know however how to handle the situation of giving you access to my account (so you can verify my holdings) or if anyone of GLBSE's staff actually would cooperate and tell you what's in my account. Just having a clause in that contract is nice and fine but if you can't enforce it...

Ok, so here's how I want to do it. I would like you to be the broker for the deal if possible. I'll give you a certain amount of BTC deposit ( probably each friday ), which you then take and pass-through to pirate. You have to provide me 100% insurance on the deposit total, but you get to keep 50% of the profits ( that is, you pay me 3.5% each week ).

Let me know if you want to do this. If so, I would mark this as a USAGI DEPOSIT or CPA DEPOSIT on my fund's investment page, since although it's related to pirate, it exposes us to no pirate risk ( only CPA risk ). However, I would have to clear all of this with my investors before I could finalize the deal, since this would be a minor modification of the share contract - but I'm waiting to see your response first.

Also, what kind of backing do you have right now for your insurance program? What assurance do I have that you'll be capable of insuring a ~1K BTC deposit in this manner? Some kind of financial sheet that I could review would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
-cyto

You state you will insure any size asset however then points to proof of funds on your website and the only 2 statements I see signed is for just under 1000BTC.

Now my real question, do you think 1000BTC is enough to run an insurance company that states any size coverage accepted ?

@cytokine: Usagi offered much better rates in the CPA thread (you'd get nearly 6% per week for insuring 7%) and he has his own PPT (YARR) which is not accepting deposits atm though. Statements about how much money is available are available in his FAQ.

Thanks, I'll take a look. It depends on if he has enough non-pirate assets to back all of the pirate that he's insuring.

CPA has way more than 1000 BTC. Half of our banks just haven't gotten back to us. For example there's no statement from nefario or starfish bank, and we're just starting dealings with imsaguy and hashking.

Does any other company offer signed statements of account?

Erm, Im not questioning signed statements, just looked like pocket money you are dealing with in reserves while maintaining being able to insure any amount. Just seemed odd to me.

?? What ??

You say no statement from Starfish BCB - have you sent a request I don't know about or expecting something you haven't asked for.  Please clarify.

Edit: clarified now - it was an issue with labelling.  Holding in excess of 500 coins for CPA.

What is considered in GLBSE going down?  How much time does it need to be shut down? 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, or longer?

Introducing constraints to the economy only serves to limit what can be economical.
