I have given theymos 24 hours to inform me of how he is going to recover the 250 btc from the "deceased" treasurer. I will follow this with several other subpoenas to investigate the actions that are being carried out. Some of these subpoenas will involve the forums money being used for the forum software.

LOL what? I hope you realize that legally speaking all the forum's money is property of theymos. He feels otherwise and wishes to use it to help the community, however if he wanted it for himself he would not even need to "run"

I don't think he needs or desires the forum's BTC. ~BCX I don't think it really matters. IDK how much bitcoin he still has/owns personally (maybe he will publicly say but probably not), but the forum's money is his money. All the people who claim that he is laundering forum money via slickage are idiots because he has no reason to need to do so because it is his property to begin with

Why does he have to recover it? forum donations are "donations to theymos". He doesn't have to get it back if he doesn't want to. Last time I checked the BTC was still sitting in the address, and there appeared to be lots of leads, I believe I had seen paraipan's home address and phone number on WHOIS for one of his domains. So I'm surprised theymos hasn't got it back, obviously if someone was stealing the money it would have moved, so I'd assume the family just need to be contacted to see if they can find the wallet.

How much time has passed since his death? Obviously, even if he intends to recover it he should wait a good period of time. Waiting for the appropriate time is the right thing to do, before recovering the money(if that is his intention).

Somebody logged into his bitcointalk account after he died, so he gave someone else the password to it. It's possible he also gave someone the password to his wallet. Do you really believe that a password for a forum (that is also maintained by someone else) is comparable to a wallet password; the former being "manageable" by admins and such, and the latter being practically "unbreakable" (by comparison...)? My guess: it's byebye BTC250

So you're saying that a staff member here logged into his account? it was mentioned by hilariousandco and other staff here that they thought it was a family member who logged in. On top of that he knew he was terminally ill for a while, so it's not like it's hard to believe that there may be a chance he gave his family his wallet password.

Maybe he didn't give anyone his password and they just booted up his computer. If bitcointalk was one of his open tabs or homepage that could explain it. So you're saying that a staff member here logged into his account? it was mentioned by hilariousandco and other staff here that they thought it was a family member who logged in.

Where did I say that? (though it is more likely). If he was terminally ill why wouldn't he have made arrangements to return the money? Has his death actually been 100% confirmed?

I'm sure Sirius, justmoon and all the donators, and not to mention the IRS, will be interested to see it.
1) The forum files and pays taxes 2) The forum itself is not a registered company [that I've seen], and so has to be owned by an individual - it doesn't exist as an entity on its own. I would like to ask one major question. Why in the hell are so many people worried about 250BTC that was property of the forum? The 250BTC is meaningless to the forum, how it is ran or even in the development of the new forum. That 250BTC will never impact your current user experience or any in the future. Again, why are so many people worried about that 250BTC?
1) Why do you add TWO line breaks between every sentence? 2) Why do you type another THREE line breaks to sign every message? We know who is writing the message because of the user info which magically appears alongside posts. 3) At what point does it become meaningful? 500? 1000? 2500 BTC? All of it is money which could be used for one thing or another.

1. Because I use very large fonts due to being legally blind. Just the way it formats a lot of time. 2. Just because I do. 3. My point is that it is really none of anyone's concern as to what happened or if the 250BTC is ever recovered. Now for my critique of you. In hardware you are a power contributor and I like your guides. Everywhere else, you're just a run of the mill asshole. ~BCX~
