In a few years time, or maybe this year. Bitcoin will be mentioned in shows in a better light.
Actually the aspect of it being used for lot of illegal things, might never be eliminated as its anonymous, and thats what they need to run things illegally.

Now, I wonder what these people used before there were "Bitcoin"
Is it not strange, how "people" will use, the most outrages and most horrible and extreme examples, to try and taint Bitcoin? You have say 1% of people using it for these types of transactions, and then they will jump on that, and use that to bash the 99% of people, who use it for legitimate transactions.
Bitcoin is not "bullet proof" when it comes to matters like these and we know that. We also know, that NO other currency out there, have 100% built in features to prevent that.
The media are being used as a "Pawn" to promote Anti-Bitcoin sentiments for the benefit of well established rich people's agendas. period!

In the second year in a row, Law and Order SVU (seson 16, episode 7) mentions Bitcoin as a form of payment acceptance by child sex traffickers. One of these days the show might mention it in a better light... Nonsense when the Dollar is used for more traffic. We have many articles about Bitcoin saying it failed and the price is going to zero. The price needs to go back to 1000$ for some journalists to say positive things about Bitcoin again.

It is good news.
Anyone could imagine BTC on TV in 2011?

Very few persons. Bitcoin will be on TV, newspapers, social media and blogs again when the price hit 1000$ again.

I agree with OP. But I suppose its the lesser of two evils. The worst case scenario is nobody is talking about it at all.
-B-
I'd rather no one talk about it at all than to have people believe Bitcoin users are all drug taking child molesters. The only way for it to go main stream now is for the entire country to turn into a collection of Bitcoin loving junkie child molesters. Agreed. Far too many people say to stay away from Bitcoin because it is only used for illegal things.

Any mentions is good mentions at this juncture.
Only 6 years into this technology, just to get people talking about it is the first step.

People fear what they do not understand and those in power fear it because it also threatens them so they use the media that they own to try slander it. Cash was and still is the biggest criminal money both in its production and use but obviously sheeple wont realize this.

I've never bought drugs but chances are I'd use cash to do it instead of bitcoin, which is far more precious to me than fiat! The way I see it, the dealer's getting the short end accepting fiat over btc!

Man thats really sad... thats what you get for mainstream media entertainment though, information accuracy not needed when you have hype.

The way I see it, the dealer's getting the short end accepting fiat over btc! I agree. Fiat is completely anonmyous for transactions and Bitcoin requires jumping through too many hoops and being perfect about it to make illegal purchases with it. The time tested method of buying contraband is using dollars. Here's a little trivia for you: 90% of paper money carried in the U.S. contains traces of cocaine.

Even if it puts a negative light on Bitcoin, it still makes people wonder what it is, and if they are curious enough, then they will go find out. That's how most of us got here

Even if it puts a negative light on Bitcoin, it still makes people wonder what it is, and if they are curious enough, then they will go find out. That's how most of us got here Correct. The only reason I even heard about Bitcoin honestly was Silk Road 1 back in early 2012. I gradually heard more of it, read more of it, and got into mining in 2013. Any mention is a good mention in my book, good or bad.

I saw the news coverage and it piqued my interest not just because you could buy drugs with it but because it was a decentralized currency and I immediately realized the potential in it. Been a fan ever since, I just wish I would have heard abut it sooner as I'd likely have a Lambo by now LOL.

Who watches Law & Order SVU anyway? Obviously we would all prefer btc to be mentioned in a positive light...but even if that boring show encourages a handful of people to research btc than its a win for our community.
