But what if "trusted" person sends to fake person #1 then to fake person#2 then fake person #3. How do you link back to the real scammer? You will be going after 3 people who dont exist.

This should be pretty obvious.

Say nobody pays up... it all goes back to Garr255 for trusting the wrong dude.

And yes, if I send it like this:

Me -> someoneItrust -> knownsock -> knownsock

then I will have to take the blame.

If it goes like this:

Me -> someoneItrust -> someoneTheytrust -> knownsock 1 -> knownsock 2

then "someoneTheytrust" is at fault

Me -> my sock puppet 1 -> my sock puppet 2

I don't quite follow this, if sock puppet 2 defaults then wouldn't sock puppet 1 be the one on the line & Me in the clear?

This could be solved if so by passing the responsibility back up the line, if SP2 fails to pass on the coins then SP1 is liable, but if SP1 also fails to reimburse the OP then Me is liable.

that's the idea. So better make sure your sock puppets pay up. ;p

If you're not excited by the idea of being an early adopter 'now', then you should come back in three or four years and either tell us "Told you it'd never work!" or join what should, by then, be a much more stable and easier-to-use system.

This game is stupid, you should play with 10 BTC instead... not that I would participate as nobody would trust me anyway...

But, but - that'd be stealing & breach of contract by HK.
I'd have 6 hours to withdraw them from HK first anyway if I was going to do a runner & a smoke screen like that would be ideal to encourage trust, just sayin' Wink & nope I haven't got it yet Tongue

Edit: Oh shit, no I couldn't they're locked in for 8 weeks, unless I could persuade him that I made a mistake & he agreed to cancel the contract & refund.

you know, it would only take 6 steps or less to get the 100 btc over to kevin bacon.

and from there, who knows what kind of low-life will end up with them.

p.s. i'll play custodian for a while: 17dR4ac33UvNQPbSsckL6yGZRGmnaeGt68

Its not that I don't trust you, I just started with the last post and worked my way up.

I will track the path in the OP so you can check there to see the status.  I changed the rule so that if you cannot find someone you totally trust within 24 hours you should send it back to me.

PS - glad that the OP was changed to 24 hrs because I was only partying to 2.30am & that was like 7 hrs afk & it could easily of been to 5am +

It might be an equally fun side game to list who you wouldn’t send it to.

I wouldn’t send it to Matthew N. Wright only because his concept of time is skewed. Oh, you’d get it back but he would read six hours as six months.

I also wouldn’t send it to Vladimir Marchenko because he would invest it in a ASIC farm or a little plastic Bitcoin card and tell you that you will thank him for it later.

I wouldn’t send it to Magical Tux because you would need to provide several proofs of identification mailed to him and then the review process would take several months because he lost your first mailing.
Good one.
