I have never mined x15 algo.

What speeds out of a r9 280x should I expect?
what version of sgminer do I need?

Figured out how to mine it.  I am getting 1.6m per 280x so I don't think I am optimized.

Edit:  Spoke to soon.  Seems like it mines for a bit and then I get a bunch of hw errors....  Any thoughts?
