I'am pretty sure it's not that hard to do , Being able to Embeed YouTube videos or other video websites would be nice using BBCode or something simillar [YouTube]URL_HERE[/YouTube] and we get the video embeed here on the post instead of going to YouTube .

Mentioning the developpers names so they can see the thread fast (they asked for it )  : taesup , wangbus
Anyway tell me what you guys think about it and if you agree or not .

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

Flash is insecure and that's the reason why it's not used on the current forum software. Embedding SWF would be annoying also. I don't see the hardship of linking a video.

Maybe in the new forum software it will be possible embed a youtube video, I think the security will grow.

Is it really that insecure ? I mean most of the huge known forums that I know use this option and I don't really see them getting hacked  Undecided as redsn0w said , maybe it would be possible in new software since the security is going to inscrease etc .. and the developpers know what they are doing

With YouTube finally switching over to HTML5 for video, it may be possible. But not all their videos are HTML5 yet.

With the security concerns, we'd have to take a hard look at whether this would be a good idea or not. So I can't say yes just yet.

Tentatively it sounds like a good idea
Html 5 being transitioned in and being relatively secure might make it worth implementing
Worst case it can be disabled if issues arise.

I haven't been on youtube a lot recently, but when I last checked I noticed they were slowly migrating to using html 5, which is a very smart move. I wouldn't of thought this is going to be completed any time soon though.

SWF is insecure, there are a lot of 0-day exploits out there. HTML5 on the other hand is better, maybe only allow HTML5 videos for the tag?

YouTube embed code is an iframe. I don't know if we can control whether it will load an HTML5 player of a Flash player.

You can force YouTube to use HTML5 by adding '?html5=1' to the end of the video.  It has been a while since I used this tag, but I think it still works.

Didn't youtube recently ditch flash and they now use html5 as a default? Not sure, I might be wrong.

Nah , they started using it but it's not available on all their videos . some of them still use Flash as far as I know .

I'm pretty sure that this could be easily implemented in the new forum software, but I don't think it could ever be added in SMF, as SMF is really unstable, seeing that someone hacked the whole forum with avatars.

I know right , I keep asking my self why the hell Sirius and Satoshi made this choice to use Simple machines forum instead of vBulletin which have more security and also more known . Even if it's paid , but it does worth it .

Maybe when they started out, they used all there resources on creating Bitcoin and couldn't afford a vBulletin forum. I'm waiting for the new forum, they said around February, but it's the end of February now and no new forum yet.

It's not that expensive (the vBulletin forum) to be honest . It's about 300$ as far as I know , or they could simply download leaked versions but that may cause problems with the company (vBulletin).
Btw , you can forget the story for the new forum little bit  , because it may take some more time . Beta was expected in December and final release in Fed but none of this happened . so we should pass by a Beta first then the final release . so it's gonna take some time . I will say Summer .
